Good take this week so those of you who didn't catch it Saturday at 7 might want to try and catch it at 10AM Sunday or on Comcast On Demand this week.

Did an interesting piece on how Saban came to be a branch on the Belichick tree. How he started his coaching career working for Steve Belichick at Annapolis. As did Deen Pees, who then worked for Nick at Toledo before Nick joined Bill in Cleveland and again at Michican State. Dean talked about how Steve was a common sense guy with a tremendous work ethic they both match. But how Nick and Bill are more complex personalities and coaches than Steve was. He said he saw a change in Nick's intensity between Toledo and MSU after his stint with Bill as his DC with the Browns, and he recognized that it came from Bill once he began working with him here in 2005.

And how later at MSU Nick hired a couple of young graduate assistants named Brian Daboll and Josh McDaniels who Belichick later scooped for his pro staff after taking the Patriots HC position. They actually interviewed Josh and Dean and showed some miced sideline clips of them admonishing their troops. Josh said his Dad warned him of Nick's intensity and questioned whether his son wanted to work for him because of it. He did. Said the demands of working for Nick prepared him for life with Bill. But he says the difference he notices is Nick remains intense and focused on football even when away from the field while Bill is more personable when they are away from the field.

Also did a nice piece on Andre Tippett complete with highlight clips and with Borges and Mike Haynes and Howie Long and Belichick commenting on why Andre should be in the Hall. Borges said Andre is the poster boy for at least a hundred players who should be in the HOF but were penalized by playing on teams that didn't win championships. Said over 70% of hall inductees did. Reiterated that if LT had played for the Pats and Andre for the Giants it would be LT waiting to get the nod now. Belichick talked about how opponents were as intimidated by Andre as they were by LT. Howie talked about how he looks at film to see how dominant guys were and how much they impacted games.

Thanks so much for the summary. Patriots All Access is by far the best programme out there -- in fact, it is the only thing on television (apart from actual sports events) I want to watch. I was out last night and will be this a.m. so can you answer an ignorant question, please: I have Comcast On Demand but haven't used it so far. How would I find PAA on Comcast On Demand?

Just go to On Demand and select Sports and Fitness then NFL Network then Patriots on Demand then Shows which are All Access or Totally Patriots. They usually post the new show on Wednesday. They also have All the PC's and Bill's Coffee with the Coach and players segments from WEEI Patriot's Mondays which they video tape just for On Demand. I think the Game of the Week stuff is archived there too.

Wow, I just watched the piece on Tippett.
 I forgot what a MONSTER he was on the field. Boy we could sure use a
Young LB like that. :(
