Week 1 is over - Which team looks overated - Which team looks underated?

Cassel would be a starter on at least eleven teams that I can think of. Bona fide NFL quarterback. Pats fans are way too spoiled with Brady. Watch any other team aside from the Colts and Saints, and you'll realize what a great thing we have in Brady. That's not the standard folks, it's the exception.

Overrated: Jets (duh), Cowboys, Vikings
Underrated: Patriots, Steelers, Seahawks

I'll wait another week before passing judgment on the Chiefs and 49ers. Something seemed rather exceptional about both of those games. If the Giants beat the zebras next week, I'll move them to underrated, but that game against Carolina was ugly.

The Texans are who we thought they'd be for a change.

I think that too many are give KC too many kudos after tonight's win. There is no doubt they are imporved, but it wouldn't require much for them to be better than they have been.

I think their weakest link is at the most important position, quarterback. I have said for several years that he is just not a bona fide NFL quarterback, and I think tonight's game proved it even more.

Sure, he will complete a nice pass every now and then, but it is very obvious from watching that game, and listening to the announcers, the KC coaching staff does not want him throwing the ball too often.... IMO, they too see his weaknesses. And, frankly, I will be surprised if he is still the starter halfway into the season.

Nice kid, was in the right place at the right time (New England) to get a big payday....other than that, backup quarterback, at best.

Even with this loss tonight, the Jets still have a very formidable defense, and agressive. The Pats will have to game plan very soundly for them. I dont consider them over rated yet.... we will see after the next game.

The team that is over rated the most, the Colts. I picked Houston to win that division and to play the Pats in the AFC title game.
I can see the Colts dropping totally out of post season play.

Dude, the man put up back-to-back 400 yard games. In the NFL. He is one of only five QB's ever to do it:

- *Dan Fouts, 1982
- *Dan Marino, 1984
- Phil Simms, 1985
- Billy Volek, 2004
- Matt Cassel, 2008

* Hall of Fame

I think the Falcons are one of the the most overated team in the NFL. And join the 49ers to the list.

Every team is overrated and underrated.

Matt Cassel, for the last 8 weeks of 2008, was as good as any QB has ever been.

Agree, Matt Cassell is one of the best of all time, no doubt. We should have traded Brady.

Could you point out where I said either one of those things?

Or are you just incapable of being intellectually honest?

Actually that was raised and you miss the point.

Quarterback is the most dependent position in sports. The guy can play when given weapons and a line. Several hyped guys couldn't do that when surrounded by talent.

Ever hear of Matt Lienart?

What was interesting about the Chiefs is that they appeared to be the only team to join the Pats and Texans as teams that played with real energy. It was amazing how many teams seemed so dead.

Given their schedule and division, it's not inconceivable they could be in the playoff hunt.

As they improve the line and bring in talent, MC will show he's a legit NFL QB.

I wonder how long before Mankins is in red.

What you just said had no relation whatsoever with what I said.

I think the point is that there are more choices than:

1. Not an NFL quarterback
2. One of the greatest (if not the greatest) of all time (TBD)

Not every NFL quarterback makes the Hall of Fame, you know.

In other words, there are more QBs than Mark Sanchez and Tom Brady :D
