Nice story. Thanks for the link. Looking forward to seeing "Mr. Mesko" for many years.

(The use of courtesy titles in papers like WSJ and NYT is pretty cool. We should do that on this site, make things more civilized: "Mr. Kontra, I see your point, but respectfully disagree...")

Amazingly, they manage to go the entire article without mentioning the fact that he achieved cult status at Michigan (and, honestly, might have had the longest Wikipedia article of any player drafted in 2010).

Good perspective on things:

"When I was 10 years old, I barely knew American football existed," he told The Wall Street Journal, in an article dubbing him the NFL's most interesting man. "If you would've told me I'd get two degrees and a pro contract for kicking a ball in the air, I probably would have said, 'Oh yeah? Are you going to disappear into thin air for your next act?'"

"I've got two degrees and no debt," he told the Journal. "Could be worse."

A most excellent suggestion, Mr. Rico.

It is refreshing to see his professionalism tempered by humility. The young gentleman has a good future ahead of him if he can maintain not just his skill level, but his attitude.

That was a really good read. Really looking forward to watching Mesko work. I was liking the punts that he was booming last Thursday night.

Unfortunately, some posters seem to prefer the Point/Counterpoint style ("[Poster], you ignorant slut!"). :) :(

Why thank you Mr. Isaac. Though I do prefer Mr. Uncle Rico.

I wonder if the WSJ had referenced the Space Emperor (of Space) thing, if they would have called him "Mr. Space Emperor (of Space)".

The legend of Zoltan continues..

I think the rule is they use Mr./Mrs./Ms. for living people, and then just the last name after they die.

Nice article.

Re: Zoltan in Today's Wall Street Journal

Stay thirsty my friends.

I was about to add this reference if no one else did.

He doesn't always drink beer, but when he does, he prefers Dos Equis.

Nice article. I just read his Wikipedia page and I laughed when I read that Lloyd Carr could not decide between Zoltan and another punter early on and had them share punting duties for a while... just like he did with Brady.

Great article - really appreciate the link.
