Aaron Wilson: Sources: Pats leader to land Boldin [UPDATE: PATS PULL OUT]

Judging by this post, I can hereby conclude that signing Mason would be an excellent move!

Let's do it, BB!
I don't mind the Pats signing "older" players but not guys that are freaking nearing retirement. This is seriously getting pathetic.

There is a strong likelihood that all those negative things happen because its the reality of it.

So you are claiming, with a straight face, that there is a strong likelihood that:

1. Welker could potentially miss the whole season if he has a setback. Even if he does come back, he wont be Wes Welker
2. Moss knows this is his last season in NE, cant wait for the trainwreck.
3. Tate cant step on the field without tearing his knee
4. Patten and Mason 5-6 years ago would have been great.
5. Edelman is the only thing we have to look forward too currently, and he isnt a deep threat which we need.

I guess it depends on your definitions of "strong" and "likelihood," and given what we've seen and can expect when it comes to your grasp of the English language, odds are they vary widely from everyone else's.

I think we should sign Mason. He's be cheap. Long term solution, no. Improvement? Yes. Only thing we can do? well we can get a couple rookies, but other than that, yes, it's the only thing we can do.

We might as well...what do we have to lose?:bricks:

Here is what you wrote:

Is someone in need of a remedial reading class?

Yes, that's true. If reality unfolds in the absolute most negative way possible, we will be screwed. Just imagine, what if Tom Brady gets hit by a bus!

I'm somewhat disappointed you decided against remaining a spectator. This forum would have been better off had you chosen differently.

Key word, REALITY, all those things can happen and probably will. Yeah because Mason playing good at 37 is as likely as Brady getting hit by a bus. We're talking about on the field issues not things you're making up off the top of your head. This is just pathetic

So you think Welker will suffer a setback, Moss with throw a tantrum and won't contribute, Tate will blow out his knee, and Mason/Patten won't make a positive difference.

Glad I took the time to consider your educated prognostication.

First, we have to convince Mrs. Mason.

I think Mason would make a great stopgap for this season while Tate/Edelman/2010 draftee develop. Then hopefully in 2011 those 3 are ready to go along with Welker and another cheap pickup while Mason and Moss are let loose.

How can you says with a straight face that any of those arent likely to happen? Did Welker have major surgery?, are Mason and Patten old as hell?, Did Moss come out and call out the FO?

think for once

Wow. This was certainly a gut punch. I got out of the gym and was told that the Pats were pushing hard to sign him. I get excited. Sign on here, and I see that we're out of the running. Oh well.

We shouldn't be taking out our anger and frustration on each other. Let's turn the anger into a positive. For example, let's hunt down Revis and take a crow bar to his knees. HAHAH

I agree. Sounds like the Pats went after Boldin hard, and I'd be willing to bet that if the Ravens got him they overpaid. And for all we know the Pats are close to coming to terms with Bodden, or have a deal worked out to acquire Dumervil and Brandon Marshall. :D

We all need to relax.

Tate blew out his knee in college, played one game in the NFL and did it again. Yeah what a fool I am for not thinking he cant contribute LMAO

MASON=Joey Galloway 2.0
how many times will you do the same thing and expect different results.

This is an excellent point. Except for Mason and Galloway having essentially nothing in common except being older players, they're exactly alike!

Done deal: Arizona trades WR Anquan Boldin and a 2010 fifth-round pick to Baltimore for Ravens 2010 third- and fourth-round picks.

Per Schefter.

??

Aside from age, those 2 couldn't be any more different

Ravens get Boldin

Great move for Baltimore.

I wish we weren't sitting on our hands.

With Baltimore adding Stallworth and Boldin, maybe that will push Mason to us.

Sounds reasonable, contract issues aside.
