Glazer/Schefter: Cromartie traded to Jets for 2011 3rd (2nd if conditions met)

Re: Jets on verge of getting Cromartie for high pick in 2011

Thta is exactly the feeling I have. You have to give credit to the Jets FO. They are always extremely agressive in going out and getting the players they want. I sure wish the PATS FO took this approach. Look at how their strategy has paid off

Alan Faneca, Calvin Pace,Thomas Jones Kris Jenkins, Braylon Edwards, Marc Sanchez and now Cromartie

One hell of a track Record...The PATS FO seems like they are always asleep at the wheel. Just sitting around and waiting to see what scraps are left over

Theres still a lot out there. But, then again the Patriots are known for bargain bin free agents.

Re: Jets on verge of getting Cromartie for high pick in 2011

He was just doing his Tiger Woods Jr. impersonation, yo!

Seriously though, he needs to keep his equipment in his pants. If he can do so, he could be a ballhawk in Tubby Rex' defense.

He's liable to impregnate Tubby Rex

Re: Jets on verge of getting Cromartie for high pick in 2011

I guarantee he will be back to his old, ball-hawking ways and this bad news with Revis on the other side.
You need to consult a dictionary on what it means to guarantee something.

Then you need to have someone set up a Valium IV for you that will run until about week 3 or 4 of the 2010 season. Chill out. It isn't even Day One of the off season yet.

Re: Jets on verge of getting Cromartie for high pick in 2011

Yo, Razor Ramon.......which crackhouse were you hanging out at when Pats were leading the way signing....Colvin, Adalius, Stallworth, or trading for Moss, Welker, Corey Dillon or picking up Rodney, ?????

And after each of these signings and trades, you got super bowl win, super bowl, and undefeated season that ended badly, but was a great season nevertheless. Moral of the story, the Pats needs to make some moves.

What alternate universe are you living in, and what track record are you looking at? Please enlighten me as to when was the last time the Jets finished a season with more wins than the Patriots?

I would say that some people here are trying to turn Cromartie into some sort of a combination of Darrell Green, Mike Haynes, Ronnie Lott and Rod Woodson, but based on the commentary and opinion I doubt that these doom and gloomers ever saw any one of those four play.

Seriously, the Chargers have been dangling Cromartie for almost two weeks with no takers. They were willing to take almost anything and the best they could get is a 2011 3rd that would turn into a second if he is a stud. The Chargers had a horrible pass defense and Cromartie lost his starting job. Now he is a stud?!?

Personally, I am glad the Jets trade for him. If they could figure out a way to sign Bodden or sign Richard Marshall, I would be far more upset. Granted as a final four team they would have had to be really creative.

Cromartie is a four year veteran with one good year three years ago. Sorta like Lito Sheppard without Sheppard's consistency (at least Sheppard had several good years).

Yep. First Dan Snyder and now the Jets. More March Lombardis than anyone else.

One hell of a track Record...
Yeah, three Lombardis and I lost count of how many division titles. I only know that they one almost every one from 2001 on, and the onlyh two they didn't win, they lost on tiebreakers. Oh, wait. Do you mean the Jets track record? 1969 was an awesome year for them. Since then, not so much.

The PATS FO seems like they are always asleep at the wheel. Just sitting around and waiting to see what scraps are left over
You really wish the Pats were more like the Redskins and Jets???? Seriously????

Wait until the games are played.

BTW, you go to the Jets board and they think this is not big of a trade as many people here.

Nice move by the Jets, unfortunately.

 I love Tannenbaum, the gift who keeps on giving.

don't hold your breath for major moves. Pats have to get their own players sealed up long term.

Actually they might have a couple sealed up already and could make the announcements tomorrow, at least thats what Im hoping for.

Mount W, part II. and Bodden would be nice, of course the Franchise is another one. Then work the FA mkt.

Peppers, Dansby, Boldin....blah blah ain't happening.

Sad but true, kinda sick of jags.

This is a tremendous move by the Jets. It will probably go down as the best signing of 2010. New York is losing population, and Cromartie will be able to help reverse this trend.

Very well played. :p

This actually doesn't bother me at all.

I wouldn't rule out Boldin, unless all he wants is money--even if it is, NE needs to take a hard look. A third for him--are you kidding me? With our WR situation? If the Pats aren't seriously looking at this one, something's seriously wrong in Foxboro.

Newsflash......We don't have a 3rd Rd pick in 2010, right now. Case closed
