Great Blue North Draft Report Feb 12
Notes for around the league with a draft angle … Speaking of potential franchise players, Carolina reportedly will not designate DE Julius Peppers with a franchise tag this year, meaning he could be free to negotiate with any team… As expected the Giants have released veteran MLB Antonio Pierce who missed the past month of the season with a bulging disk in his neck, although even before being injured it was pretty clear that Pierce had lost a step or two and was no where near as effective as he had been as recently as 2007 when he helped New York with the Super Bowl. The loss of Pierce likely will have the Giants looking for re-enforcements at the position, although they are more likely to start their search among veteran free agents rather than the draft… Buffalo is switching to a 3-4 defense under new head coach Chan Gailey, but after employing a more traditional 4-3 alignment the past decade, the Bills may be decidedly short on players that fit the 3-4 mold and no doubt will be looking for a NT and 3-4 type DEs in the draft. Ironically,OLB Aaron Maybin, the Bills 2009 first rounder who had a very undistinguished rookie season, could actually be a better fit as a 3-4 rush LB … It may not mean a whole lot but Indianapolis president Bill Polian put the blame for the Colts’ upset Super Bowl loss squarely on the shoulders of the offensive line.

I've been dumping a bit of everything in this thread so one more zig to zag around won't hurt. Some of these "scouting reports" are a bit dated - Spikes' for instance reads like it was written over the Summer - and of course being fishy fans they haven't grasped the concept of dating the individual reports. Unless I catch the posting date I won't be including them in the position threads. This link is for anyone curious about the Walter gang's thoughts.

I just want to chime in and say that I feel Reggie Bush would be an excellent replacement (long term) for Kevin Faulk. On top of that, we would be seeing Kim Kardashian getting more screen time in the booth during Pats games... and that's never a bad thing. :D

Oh yes it is.

Is Bush a fit? Certainly. Is he coming here? No way. It appears to me from an outsider that he thinks of his value as a premier featured back in this league just because he played at usc and was the 2nd overall pick. There is no way that he comes and plays for Kevin Faulk money or anything close. As a 1 yr rental his contract is bogusly inflated and to be honest I'd rather have Faulk back. He would probably sign a 3 yr deal for one yr of Bush money.
Ofcourse he would be super on st's and 3rd downs but I just don't see him sucking it up and joining this team. Besides he already has a great situation in New Orleans. Why give us a hometown discount when he could do it for them?

I can't see why. You just get the shot and, most likely, would not have to hear her talk. :bricks:
Another damned whippersnapper letting his small head do the talking. Brains is sexy, high priced, high mileage, trophy wenches not so much - and I've had enough needles to know getting another hole poked in my skin to treat any disease I caught from seeing her on TV ain't worth it. :violent:

Heh heh heh. Box, have I mentioned you're one of my favorite posters?

The way I see it, we have a few needs going into the offseason.

1. O-Line
2. DE
3. OLB
4. WR
5. ILB
6. Hollywood "it" girls

As it stands, our depth for the "it" girls sucks pretty bad right now. Camera shots to the box were getting shut down with just Giselle in 2009. The way I see it, if we bring Bush in... sure, we're paying a lot of money for a third down back. However, we have a combination of Kardashian and Giselle up in the luxery boxes, and that will be hard for any team to compete with. Hell, after that we would still be able to bring in Hank Baskett and Kendra Wilkinson for depth purposes.

As in #1 priority, care to explain? :)
