There are lots of fair criticisms of Maroney, but this isn't one of them. Lewis hit the line at full speed at the snap, Brady was under center and Maroney was 7 (yes, seven!) yards behind the LOS. Maroney met Lewis about half-way (3.5 yards) despite going from a standing start. He turned Lewis to Brady's left, which is exactly what he should have done (Brady is right-handed last time I checked). If Brady had rolled to his right as he should have, he would have at least been able to get rid of the ball.

If your expectation is for Maroney to have reacted faster without drawing a false start...or for him to completely stone a 250 lb linebacker coming directly at him at full gallop...then you not only lacking in football knowledge but you have a pretty loose grip on physics.

I'll defer to your superior knowledge of physics, but not of football.
1. Maroney's only real problem is between his ears at times. Look at the replay as many times as you want--he had time to get over more in front of Lewis as Lewis is charging the LOS. Any back who is worth a damn at pass protection is going react more quickly and get a better piece of Lewis, regardless of which way Brady turns.

2. If you're going to argue physics in relation to an supremely athletic NFL RB being able to slow down a 250 pound LB with a full head of steam, then sorry I just can't help you. Neither can Tedy Bruschi:

Seriously, if someone posts something that qualifies as "lunacy," then there's nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade. "Idiot" was a term proffered by Xplicit; if you have an issue with it, bring it up with him, not me.

Go to UserCP. There's an area that reads "Settings and Options". There you'll find the "Edit ignore list". Click on that. Type in the name of the person you want to put on ignore, hit "okay" and then "save changes".

I use that and then use FFvb (firefox addon) to eliminate having to see any part of their posts if it's someone who posts frequently:

Thank you sir. You get it. This has been a pattern of this thread (and many more) as you can see. Anyone here has a certain chance to say how they feel about a player and receive feedback. It doesn't have to be an attack every time but some enjoy the feeling of superiority it brings them in their empty little lives. Go figure.

My point was Maroney has been here four years and there is no one here on this forum including Batman and Robbin who could honestly (key word) say Maroney has been worth a number #1 pick. Let's look for someone else.
Why are the backers of Maroney trying to force him down the throats of some that say he lacks in many areas? We don't hate him or his family. It's time for a change.
