Vic Carrucci is throwing around more baseless rumors about the Pats

Doesn't the Seymour trade prove that Belichick has not intention of leaving this team and not trying to ruin it? Why would Belichick trade away Seymour for a 2011 first rounder if he intended on retiring or resigning from the Pats? He would have done everything to win this year and leave with another Super Bowl rather than trying to sacrifice winning this year to make this team stronger into the next decade.

Can you please try to refrain from adding any logic into the hysteria?

Silly emoney, with Seymour we WIN the SB!;) Because he's a one man SB contender!

Maybe not, but with Seymour I don't think we give up 237 yards rushing to a team with the proverbial one arm tied behind it's back.

I don't want Belichick gone. I want Belichick to heed "Just do your job". Clearly he didn't take his own mantra into his heart last year. As I noted elsewhere earlier today, perhaps a benching would do him some good. He seems to think it's the way to go with his running back, after all.

While homers like you can't handle even the mildest of criticism being tossed at Saint Bill, most people are able to understand that criticizing someone doesn't have to mean you want them gone.

Belichick has made some mistakes this year, but people act like it is the first time he has. People seem to forget personnel moves like Doug Gabriel, Donald Hayes, Monty Beisel, Duane Starks, and other players he aggressively targeted in previous years. The Lawyer Milloy thing would have been looked at differently if the Pats didn't get lucky and Eugene Wilson didn't turn into a very good safety for two years considering he had never played the position until week #2 of his rookie year.

I don't see a lot of difference between Belichick's personnel moves this year than in other years. The difference is that the older players he gambled on didn't pan out (several due to injuries), but he has always gambled like this. And there was not enough veteran leadership to overcome it like in the past.

Good point, if he was leaving this year why would he care about 2011?

Probably not, but the Pats also don't give up 237 yards rushing if the score was 7-0 Ravens at the end of the 1st.

The only problem with BB is that he is doing too much, he's spread thin. He didn't have experience in the front office so he borught experience in the form of Reese but that still left him with a very raw OC and a DC who is a little too conservative in his calls who BB has to micro manage. BB would be wise to see if RAC is willing to come back so he can go back to being the HC.

Well, OK. Maybe that's true (I am sure it is, barring any injury). But we are not one player away from the SB, I don't care who it is. And you're left with no SB, no 2011 pick and likely no Seymour after this year anyway.

Isn't RAC headed to KC with Weis?

He traded Seymour because he THOUGHT he'd be here next season. Things change. Maybe he's just sick of it all.

The game seems to have passed him by. If you watched GB / Cards game yesterday, Rogers seemed to be on fire. Hitting open WRs all over the place. The same way once upon a time, you know who could. All that is gone now. And Rogers is considered good but not great. An attack like that would tear us to SHREDS!! We are BAD! We deserved to lose.

Why can't BB put together an offense like that? Instead of this super boring stare down moss then dump off to welker for 6 yards and hope he gets a first down.

As another poster said "this team needs to be BLOWN UP!"!

This is most definately a team that needs to be rebuilt for the most part..while some areas are still in place there is more holes on the team than there is not...this team is probably 2 to 4 years away at least from being a serious contender again unless we have one helluva draft and FA pickups.

I hate to say this, but the Jets appear to be on the move to take over the east next season and possibly beyond.

Show us the way to the lifeboats. Yankee fan, circa 2001-2008.

You Jets fans keep saying that the game has passed Belichick by and some day it will be true. The game has passed him by so much that the Pats won 10 games and the AFC East, won 11 games last year without Brady, and went 18-1 and was a minute away from 19-0 two years ago. With results like that, I am surprised that Belichick can find his way from the lockerroom to the field.

Seriously, if the game has passed Belichick by, the Pats would have been 6-10, not 10-6.

Funny, I watched the Cards/Packers game and I thought, Brady could have done that if he played a bad defense like either of those team. Like Brady looked vs. the Titans, the Colts for 3 quarters, or Jacksonville this year.

Wow! You trolls don't have any real imagination do you?

The Pats did have more win than the Jets this year. They had 10 wins. The Pats are better this year than they were in 2002 or 2005. Both those teams turned around in a year with one winning the Super Bowl and the other going to the AFC Championships.

Settle down there. Things aren't always as good as they seem or as bad as they seem. You can't make judgements off one game. If you watched Rogers at all this season you'd know how he has a tendency to hold on to the ball too long. It worked for him vs the Cards yesterday because they couldn't generate a pash rush but it really hurt him vs the Vikings in both games.

I disagree completely. They were a serious contender this year until Welker got hurt. Being a 'contender' is not the same as being the favorite. And there is no way in hell this team needs to be "rebuilt" nor are there more holes than not. This team's biggest hole is inexperience, and next year that hole gets a little bit smaller. The next biggest hole is WR talent/depth, which is something I'm sure they will work hard to fix this coming offseason.

And everyone stop quoting whinefan

Unless he made the tackle on the 83 yard TD run I dont think he would have caused the Raven to be significantly less than the 51 carries for 154 yards that they had otherwise.

Rebuilt? The Detroit Lions need to be rebuilt. The Seahawks need to be rebuilt. Pats need some more depth at WR and TE as Welker may not be back, but even with Welker they needed someone on the outside anyway to take pressure off of Moss and Welker. Moss may have lost his top-end speed, but the guy can still play. I'm not sold on Watson. He may be moving on. Not sure what to make of the RB situation. There is some age there. If BB deems that Maroney isn't the answer then the team needs to find a player. O-line is fine. Not sure what they plan is with Light. I think he can still play but his days as a premier LT might be at an end.

Besides resigning Wilfork and Bodden, D needs a CB to step up, a pass rush and edge-setters. A DT to assume opposite side of Warren is also needed. A thumper ILB to help Mayo is also needed. I like our safeties.

Jets do have a nice future, but the Pats have 4 picks in the top 2 rounds, a ton a money to spend. Brady is only 32. He should have a good 3-4 high-end years remaining.

Any thoughts of gloom and doom are way too premature IMO.

They're called 'rumblings' precisely because they're baseless. I've heard rumblings that Vic Carucci is a complete idiot who should do sports journalism a favor by running head-first into a brick wall to beat the stupid out of himself.

WOW! You sir, need to take a step away from anything in your life that reminds you of football, and take a serious breather. A team that needs to be rebuilt for the most part? Every team that doesn't make it to the SB needs to add some things and lose some things. We just made the playoffs. We lost in the first go, it sucks, i know. But, we still made the playoffs with one of the toughest schedules in the league. Could some things have gone better? Sure. Couldnt some things have gone worse? Yup! But, rebuilt for the most part? C'mon now man.

And please, had the Jets not been givin gimmies toward the end of their miraculous season they wouldnt even be in the playoffs. **** man, they could win the SB and that still doesn't mean jack to me when thinking about next yr.

We've got a lot of strong young talent on this ball club, talent that didn't show it was regressing but just getting better. Butler, Chung, McGowan and Meriweather will only get better as our pass rush improves. Brace is going to be just fine, let's not forget about Mckenzie being thrown into the fold. And, thats just the D.

I could go on about Vollmer, Edelman, getting Tate back, we've got solid young offensive lineman waiting in the wings. We just need to trim some of the fat from the top, retain our core guys that could be lost, and if we have a draft like we did this past yr. this club is only going to get better.
