NESN: BB apologized to four late players - report questioned by BB

Re: BB Apology?

It was a pretty interesting exchange - once it's up on the website, I'm going to listen again.

My impression is that Belichick was taken by surprise by the question. He asked (more than once, I think) whether there was a specific source.

Media creating rumors attempting to enhance any tension between BB and Thomas? Trying to create stories where there aren't any?

Re: BB Apology?

How about apologizing to the fans for drafting the likes of Bethel Johnson and Chad Jackson? And not having any LBs ready to go so we have to rely on castoffs? He should apologize for wasting this season, having a vanilla offense which is totally predictable.
Yeah, and he should apologize to the fans for every game the Pats have lost, every point they've given up, and every yard they've allowed to the opposition. Nothing short of 100% perfection is any good.

Re: NESN: BB apologized to four late players - denied by BB

Me - maybe he didn't deny it, but he questioned the report's credibility:

It Is What It Is Belichick sounds bemused by report of ‘apology’

I listened to the show. What Belichick did was dodge the question by refusing to answer it since it wasn't attributed to a specific person. He could simply have said that it didn't happen, but he chose not to do that. That's his right to do, obviously, but the result is that the current thread title is not accurate.

He was definitely pissed off about it ... I heard one of his hemroids pop. I kind of laughed as I listened to it. Funny thing was Pete didn't ask him - he got in enough trouble last week .

If that came from a player ... expect a benching. If it came from an employee of the facility or team ... it's going to be a cold and long winter season.

I think he wants to know WHO the Rat is, the same RAT that started the shtstorm in the 1st place.

Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users?
If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this:
Through your User Control Panel: User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List. Then, click on their name and choose: User List, Add to Ignore List

Re: BB Apology?

I think this this spot on. Only other reason for a mea culpa would be if he thought that he was losing the team, which seems like that is not the case.

By sometimes admitting when they are wrong, many great leaders of men have gotten more out of their soldiers than whip-cracking- one of them bring George Washington (who actually lost more battles than he won). As a millitary history buff, I'm sure BB is keenly aware of this.

BBlaid the hammer down. Three guys said nothing, or the right thing, one shot his mouth off. He's already benched him twice.

The team rallies and AD is left out on a limb, with pie on is face, in a clown suit. He does the charity thing.

BB allows him to save some face instead of crawling back and maybe play some good ball.

BB won the confrontation flat out. He can afford to be magnanimous, he has nothing to gain by losing a good player. Stuff happens. One ego deflated and put in line.

Given Moss' performance last week and the subsequent wetnapping of it by BB, this is pretty clearly not what happened.

Re: BB Apology?

I'm a fan of this team and I take second to noone in that regard. I was probably a fan before some of you were even born. Mid 1970s, here. Thru the rotten years as the song says. I've earned the right to be critical.

I call them as I see them. I'm not going to ball wash. If you think someone speaknig the truth isn't a fan, then that makes you a homer, not me a 'fan of another team'.

Some of you are being so annoying that if the Pats do lose, I'm tempted to come on here and rub it in your face. It would be bittersweat, just to rub it in.

Mid 70's???

you're a Johnny Come Lately Lam Jones fan, undercover Greenie Kline.

BTW...IMO it's a must listen on Monday's when the coach comes on EEI..and you can always access the archived clip later on

Thank you sir. BB hasn't lost one yet, that i recall. Terry Glenn, Lawyer Milloy, Ty Law, the team has always ended up rallying.

He even played Glenn for a while until he became just too wacky. Hell, he had some confrontations with Seymour abd risked a lot of criticism for that trade.

Before you pounce Deus, of course, especially with injuries, we'd be better with Seymour. However we're lucky to have a coach that looks beyond this year, that's why we always contend.

What does this have to do with Moss? Moss went home in complete silence. You don't make sense sometimes, your so fixated on certain players.

I'm not fixated on any players. Your assertion of how things went down simply fails in light of how the Moss situation unfolded.

Re: NESN: BB apologized to four late players - denied by BB

My guess is that BB acknowledged in some way that at least some aspects of the media reaction are regrettable. After all, he surely thinks that.

My further guess is that the so-called "apology" pretty much stopped there.

Re: NESN: BB apologized to four late players - denied by BB

you know...all this blabber about "apologies!!!" and who did or didn't reminds me of a bunch of old broads sitting around eating doughnuts and getting fatter by the minute while their husbands are out busting tail trying to please them.
