Wilson: Patriots work out RB, DE | National Football Post

The New England Patriots auditioned running back Cory Ross and defensive end Eric Henderson this week, according to a league source.

Henderson played for the Las Vegas Locomotives this season in the upstart United Football League.

He's a former Cincinnati Bengals undrafted free agent who played collegiately at Georgia Tech.

Henderson ranks fourth in school history with 25 sacks and first with 59 1/2 tackles for losses.

Ross played for the California Redwoods this season in the UFL.

He played for the Baltimore Ravens for a few seasons after going undrafted out of Nebraska.

In 2007, he rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers before being cut heading into the 2008 season.

He spent last year out of football before signing with the Redwoods.

I know that these things are routine, but I've had a feeling that if things are going to change in the second season here, it will be on the backs of "no-name" players.

Start Henderson on Sunday, sit AD

Sadly. . . .

I'd cut Burgess and sign this guy. Burgess hasn't done anything this year and his deal expires after this year so there's no cap accelaration for cutting him and it would send a message to some of these guys that seem to be having so much fun losing.
