It was a short lived improvement. Cable says this was a one game thing due to circumstance and JaMarcus is still the starter for the Raiduh's. I'm sure that word came down to Cable before he made it to the locker room. Al remains convinced this kid is a keeper...and Seymour was the ticket to stopping the run.

Too bad Davis can't somehow buy the Jets...

Seymour Prediction Update!!! “I don’t think we could have beaten an Oakland high school team today,” said defensive lineman Richard Seymour.

Whatever his motivation Seymour was NOT predicting playoffs as a result of clear thinking. Jamarcus Russell, at this point in time, cannot play QB at an NFL level with any consistency. Any cheese doodle eating NFL fan watching from home can see that. You do not win in the NFL without decent QB play.

It will be interesting to see what the stupid Raiders do in their next game (start Jamarcus or not).

Former All Pro Richard Seymour was a beast today with 2 tackles and helps the Raiders hold the Jets to 316 yards combined rushing.

Hee, hee, hee.

But according to somebody here, if the Pats don't win the SB this year it's all because of the Seymour trade!

No, because he lacks the cerebral make up to fit this read and react system as well as the work ethic and determination to even try and remotely develop it.

Cassel looks rough in KC because he has nothing to work with and his HC is egotistical. Pioli missed the boat with Josh while pondering his options. Then he sat on his hands through FA and traded a pro bowl TE away. Haley may have had some exposure to the system early in his career, but his coaching temperement is all wrong for the job of installing and running it.

They now know they're risking getting Cassel killed with this patchwork OL let alone minus Brandon Albert. Can't run the ball or pass protect. And LJ is behaving like a festering cancer in the clubhouse. Cassel isn't Brady even with BB and Moss and Welker. But he's better than Kyle Orton and look at what he's accomplishing with some talent around him and an excellent coaching staff in Denver. If Pioli sticks with Haley he's going to have to force a system OC on him for 2010. Not sure where he finds him as he can't poach one off Josh's or Bill's staffs since those are lateral moves. And plugging gaping holes in his roster in an uncapped year isn't going to be easy or cost effective.

To be fair Seymour said they'd be in "the playoffs". He didn't say which playoff's they'd be in. The Oakland Country Club's playoffs? The CA Pop Warner playoffs? You don't really think he means the NFL playoffs

25 Tackles and 4 sacks in 6 games puts Seymour on an average at best Defensive Lineman - Maybe the guys that were saying that Seymour was the most overrated DL in the league since his contract extension in 2005 were right. - Yeah those 8 sacks last season were good but he still was not a dominant DL.

Except he plays for an absolutely terrible team and if you watch the game, is clearly the best player on the field. He's getting double and even triple teamed at times, and still creating pressure.

But it's completely counterproductive. I realize it's just one quote, but it's the kind of thing you'd think years with the Patriots would have taught him not to say. It's a) obviously wrong, and b) looks down the road instead of just to the next game, which is the only way any team should be, but particularly one as bad as the Raiders. Trade looks better every day.

The Raiders shot themselves in the foot when they released Garcia after acquiring him - If Garcia were starting I could say the Raiders had a shot at the playoffs,JaMarcus is a joke of an NFL QB and should be arrested for trying to impersonate one.

Sam Bradford should be high on their list in 2010 if Sam recovers fully from his injury.
