OT: Kris Jenkins out for season

I hate to see players go down like this with an injury. That guy is just awesome player. My jaw just dropped when I saw him toss Houston offensive lineman with one shove.

With that being said, I hope Pats run for 200 yards against Jests.

what a shame. they can have ron brace for a 2011 1st. hahaha.

Maybe they can trade for a disgruntled DT superstar. Too bad they only have enough cap space for Rex Ryan's lunch.

Not quite sure $127,000,000 is enough to cover Rex Ryan's lunch...

In regards to the player, it sucks to see anyone suffer.
As far as the NYJets organization and their fanbase... let them eat a full bag of Sh!t.

Massive loss to the Jets and the NFL. Despite my utter dislike of the Jets, you never want to see anyone injured, let alone a star. Hate the uniform, not the players.

Well wishes for a speedy recovery.

Unfortunately he is on the wrong side of 30 and already one cheeseburger away from having his own gravitational pull. He could come back pushing 4 bills next spring and start popping ligaments like old guitar strings.

Re: Kris Jenkins out for season

Brother are you made of glass?!!!

Get well soon then :)

Thanks. I'll know shortly whether the Docs want to do surgery or just rehab it.

Thing is, when it's not in use, or just moving in a small area, it's almost pain free. however, if I forget and try to lift something, or raise my arm quickly, it reminds me it's still there :)

I always played hard. Apparently I also land hard.. :D

Kris is a good player and sounds like a fine man,and a good teamate. I wish him well.

Meanwhile he wasn't the only Jets lineman to fall. Woody had to be helped off the field as well. What is the status with him? The Jest in their fervor to gain credibility, have traded their las tfew drafts for a player of two and a few high picks.

They have essentially zero depth beyond the first 22. I don't even know who the sixth offensive lineman is, and I'm afraid their Coaches don't either.

I will say the same thing that I said in the Jets-Bills thread yesterday: That's too bad.

And that is about as much sympathy that they will get out of me. I feel bad for Jenkins as a person. It sucks for him that's he's injured again. But as far as that team goes, I don't give a rat's ass. They were the leading fanbase that cackled and howled when Brady was injured last year and still wish for it openly to this day.

think san diego and pitt also. i personally witnessed the sd gaiety. there's a saying for people like this. it's called karma. i only wish good things for people. i never wish injuries on anyone. i never thought i'd be quoting stimpy but, "happy happy, joy joy".

The dude is STRONG but big men seem to get hurt a lot. Too much weight is tough for the joints.

This is definitely true....Look at Haynesworth, He might be the only player to play in 16 games and get hurt in 16 games.....He gets hurt every game and then comes back in only to get hurt the next week....Jamal Williams for the chargers is a beast and is on the shelf.....Superstart D-lineman are hard to keep healthy and that is why wilfork has been impressive with his run (knocking on wood)..

And probably why they're scared as hell to give him the big long contract his play deserves

As others have said, a big reason why he's even with the Jets is his injury history. If he could stay healthy, he'd be a future HOFer. As is, he's a part-time player -- excellent for about half a season, and out for the other half.

I have tremendous respect for him, and wish him a speedy recovery. The Jets have suffered a serious blow to their playoff hopes, and while I dont' wish injury on anyone, I'd be ok with the Jets flaming out to 6-10 or so. :D

The loss of Jenkins highlights a huge weakness for the Jets. They traded their lower draft picks for sanchez, jenkins, revis, and others. Now, they have some very good players at important positions, but now they have no depth behind them. If they go down, like Jenkins has, they don't have anyone to really step in. Their run defense is going to be in trouble.

Oh yes... I haven't torn those, but I've had 3 fractured vertebra, 2 ribs, and currently rehabbing a torn left rotator cuff, biceps and deltoid. I know from pain :D

And I can't wait for the Jets* to come up here in the snow......

Your parachute didn't open?

Mark Cannizzaro, of the New York Post, reports New York Jets OT Damien Woody (knee) said following Week 6 that the right knee injury he suffered in the game was not serious and that he would be ready for Week 7.

With Jenkins now out I wonder if Tannenbaum might call up Mangina and ask about the availability of Shaun Rogers?

Hat tip to the board here--huge loss for a hated rival and pretty much everyone leads with sympathy for the player. Well done.

Your parachute didn't open?

No.. heh. Actually, the vertebra and ribs were from a helo accident. We got about 40 feet off the deck, lost power, and came down hard. I spent two months at Bethesda after that one. I also incurred a stress fracture in my left foot, and damage to both sciatic nerves.

The rotator cuff, biceps and deltoid were pure accident. I slipped in the kitchen, and instinctively reached out to grab the counter to stabilize myself. The body kept going, however, and I should have let go of the counter then, but didn't. Hindsight is 20/20, you know? The sad part is that I was stone cold sober. had I been a bit tipsy, I prolly would've just fallen and had a few bumps and bruises... :D

Agreed. Almost all the folks who post here are Football fans too. I appreciate good play and am happy to give credit where it is due, even though I might loathe the team he plays for. I can root for a team to lose, but I never root for a bad injury to anyone. It's still a game, after all, and those players are trying to make a living for themselves and their families.

Wow! Hats off to your sense of humor. Hope you are well on your way to recovery.

A good point I learnt is that I should try not to be cold sober. ;)
