Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

This is a sad day indeed. But we all knew that this day would come. Thank you Teddy Bruschi. You will be missed. :(

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

A sad day, but a wise decision. Here's to a great next phase of his life and career.

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

Number 1 I did not want to see him cut, and the way he came back from the stroke it was amazing... But sad to say he was not going to be a factor anymore... Glad to see he is leaving on his on terms... But its very sad, would have liked to see him get a chance for 1 more ring.. he deserved it....
If he left on his own terms it would have been before the season started. Who at that age wants to go through training camp to retire before the season starts. Obviously he was going to be cut.

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

One of the great Patriots.......always a fan favorite because of his hard work on the field, with his family and in the community. Kind of a curiosity at first because of his name and size but the name became a cheer every time he made a play and he always played bigger than he needed to. I'll really miss seeing him on the field.

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

I remember when Patjew retired...::sniffle::....

oh wait....

well, we'll all always be charter members of the Bru Crew

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

I don't know about coaching staff—it's not nearly as easy a job as you might think—but I remember when Bru had his stroke, Robert Kraft basically said there was a front office-type job with Bru's name on it if he wanted it.

Personally, I think he has what it takes to coach. Several former players who played under Belichick have joined the coaching ranks including Pepper Johnson, Otis Smith, Bryan Cox, Rick Lyle, and Jerome Henderson. If they can do it, Bruschi certainly can. While a player, Bruschi has been a coach/mentor to many players including Mayo.

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

My all time favorite player but he is going out on his terms.

Full Tilt Full Time #54 - Forever

As one of the Bruschi Backers this is a very sad day indeed

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

What a career he can look back on.
Thanks for all the great plays and hard work, Tedy.
Hope to see you on the sidelines as a coach.

Teddy you are a God.

I am crying red white and blue tears right now....

Thanks Tedy for all the clutch plays leading to the SB wins as well as your undying spirit. Tedy helped forge the stuff that is the "Patriot Way" as we know it today

Thanks Tedy.

Florio on PFT is classy, as usual. Intimates that the team told him to retire, based on absolutely nothing.

Does this take Kevin O'Connell out of the headlines?
