Jermaine Wiggins was solid for a little while, especially in '01.

Jermaine Wiggins

I liked him, and he was productive for the Vikes. I didnt know he was out of the NFL. Glad to see he's still playing somewhere.

I like to use Wiggins as the answer to a trivia question: "Who caught the pass from Tom Brady that set up Adam Vinatieri's game-winning FG in Super Bowl XXXVI?" A lot of people answer Troy Brown.

I liked Wiggins too and was sad to see him leave NE. If this UFL ever gets off the ground and Direct TV carries their games maybe I'll watch one or two to see how he looks.

No love for Danny Baugher or Chas Gessner? :D

Not really. He had one good game that year.

Granted, it was an important game, but other than the Snow Bowl, he was totally forgetable.

Problem was he couldn't block, only catch. And Rod Rutledge couldn't catch, only block. So depending on who was on the field, the opposing defense know what to expect.

Edit, yeah he caught a pass in hte Superbowl, setting up Adam';s 48 yard FG. But he had just lowered his houlder instead of that silly jump move of his, it could have been a 42 yard FG.

Actually, the funniest thing about that article is that the Las Vegas team is coached by Fassel and QB'ed by JP Losemen :singing:

Loved all three (well, in Danny Baugher's case only the fact that he had a punch-up with his old man after getting cut).

Wiggins is a really engaging character, though. My best memory of him is watching him playing for Minnesota on a nationally televised game, catching a pass and trying to use his famous "hurdle" move on the defender. The defender, though, had obviously watched film. He just stood up, waited, dropped his shoulder and put him flat on his back. :D

Honestly, when it comes to the UFL, I'm going to be more interested in seeing the younger players and rookies, and what they can do on the field - with the hopes of making the jump to the Big Show.

The re-tread veterans are somewhat interesting but I'm not expecting too many of them to make an NFL resurgence...

Good for Gessner.
