Look on the bright side...the Sox just beat the Yankwees...unbeaten in the new Urinal...

And I enjoyed every minute of it as usual;)

If anyone's bored take a wander over to NYYfans.com, they're all crying and yelling at each other. Good stuff.

Why? It won't change the reality of the guy. He's a guy who gets banged up a lot. He's played a full 16 game schedule only twice in 11 seasons. He's been a great runner when healthy, but let's not start acting as if he's football's version of Cal Ripken now that he's a Patriot.

Whose acting that way? I'm not. I'm pointing out that this thread will look hilariously bad if he plays all the games. He's more than capable of doing that, we aren't giving him the benefit of the doubt that he can do it.

Fred Taylor--glass, Maroney--glass, Morris--glass

Kevin Faulk will be ready for the umpteenth gazillion year in a row. No worries;)

Who isn't giving him the benefit of the doubt? I haven't seen a single poster claim that. This thread will look like a thread reporting that his wrist is injured whether he plays 16 games or not. I don't really see how you find humor in that.

He's done it twice in 11 years. Frankly, I'm not worried about a sprained wrist in May, but he's not going after Favre's consecutive game streak. If he plays 16 games it'll be an exception for him, not the rule. It's just the way it is, so pulling the "what's funny is" simply makes no sense.

So the jokes about him being made of glass and the perils of signing a 30+ year old running back is giving him the benefit of the doubt? From the headline, yes it looks like an injury report thread. From the actual posts, no it isn't. I don't see it that way, I see it as some ragging on his past injury problems and his reputation.

The humor will be the hindsight...what we went overboard with now may prove to be meaningless later if/when he plays all the games and goes uninjured during the year. Funny that we expected him to get injured but he didn't, we expected him to miss games but he didn't. I can find humor in the underexpectations.

Right has played all 16 games before, as with everyone he should be expected to play them all. To not expect him to is to expect him to get hurt during the year which shouldn't be expected of anyone.

It's just the way it is, so pulling the "what's funny is" simply makes no sense.

Take hindsight as you see it, I could see how this is funny later on from the reactions and remarks about him being made of glass and talk of his past injury problems...after he goes uninjured.

Actually, statistically speaking, given the course of his career and the fact that aging players tend to be more vulnerable to injury, yes, it should be expected.

Ok, how that's supposed to be funny is a matter for your mind, I suppose. For most Patriots fans, it would be a pleasant surprise.

The jokes about him being made of glass were all sarcastic ones mocking what people said about Maroney when he was injured. Some of us chimed in and pointed out that he is in fact an injury prone player. If he plays 16 games that's great, but he still has a history of being fragile so nobody is gonna look dumb for pointing that out here. Nobody is ragging on him, it's just a fact.

You must be new.lol. Thats what people do here. They overeact about everything. BB cut a 7th rd draft pick and sucks at the draft, Seymour ONLY had 8 sacks trade him he's done, Cassel didnt have 20 td's in preseason dump the bum...lol.... hindsight on this board is

The thing with this Taylor report is, why is it being reported? Who cares? He sprained his wrist in MAY.

Fair enough.

Aw fudge...didn't register as being sly in-jokes. My apologies for assuming the worst then Wildo.

Slow news day in sports section?

its the reason i hate the time after the draft. Brady going to a horse race (that he does every year) is a big news story.

You want more twits? :wha: I could have sworn there was more than enough here. :idontgetit:

Ok, this injury isn't even FROM working out. It's the equivalent of stubbing his toe in the weight room. It seems unlikely this will even prohibit him from starting practice when he wanted to.

Fred: "Bill, I slipped getting up in the weight room and sprained my wrist."

Bill: "Gonna be alright?"

Fred: "Yep, couple of weeks."

Bill: "Ok. See ya."

Seriously, this is less than nothing.

I posted this article just to keep the forums active. The offseason is boring and obviously this thread got alot of hits!!

Oh, I'm not slamming you for posting it. But maybe a heading like "Taylor sprains his wrist" or something less alarmist. Wheatley had a "wrist injury" and we never saw him again.
