By the end of the season one group - either Bills fans, or fans of the other AFC East teams - are either going to be cursing, or thanking Laveranues Coles and Joey Galloway for not signing with the Bills last week.

At this point and as a Bills fan, I'd rather have T.O. for one year than Coles or Galloway for 3 or 4. Coles I considered, Galloway not so much. But the money is comparable anyway, Coles is actually getting more than T.O. You gotta make a decision and live with it, so I'll have no regrets. I agree with it now, so how it plays out will be interesting, but not I won't regret the decision. Also, it's hard to compare different players on different teams and stats don't tell the whole story.

The player I really wanted to land was Torry Holt. That guy gains yards. Besides his rookie year and last year, he has averaged around 1,380 yards a season over an eight-year period of time. Don't quote me on that exactly...I did the math before, though, and it definitely came to over 1,300 yards per season.

When you say that I'm incapable of introspection, do you mean that I'm incapable of looking within myself? I can't soul search?

Apparently, you need a dictionary, an encyclopedia, and God knows what else.

If I'm wrong about Brady, tell me the truth...or are you one of those Patriots fans that only started following them after they became successful? No way I'm wrong about this.

In the offseason, before the 2001 season, Drew Bledsoe was signed to a then record ten-year $103 million dollar contract. In the second game of that same season, he was injured by Mo Lewis. Brady stepped in, and the Patriots won the Super Bowl that year and never looked back.

this is all fact. My point was that Brady was never intended to start. Why would they sign a player to a record deal while having the intension of immediately replacing him. The plan was never to start Brady, and that's all I said. I was never a jerk about it unless you see calling your coach Bellyjerk as an unforgivable transgression. I've seen it said by many Patriots fans on this very board that they think Belichick is a jerk, but they don't care because he is a good coach.

This post tells us all we need to know about you. You're clueless and a troll. Yet another assclown on ignore this weekend.

Holt is a wild card since he wasn't available for the start of free agency. I'm sure more than one team has him pegged for a visit as soon as the Rams cut him. He's due a roster bonus March 17th; I doubt the Rams pay it and keep him, and I don't believe they'll be able to trade him either.

Mabye so, but one player never does it alone. Football is the ultimate team sport IMO. T.O. makes the Bills a better team for having him, which is the ONLY point in my book.

TO didn't make the Eagles or Cowboys any better. That is why my post is trying to explain. We will soon find out if he make the Bills any better.

Re: T.Owens visits and signs 1 year deal with Bills (merged)

Great, talking to a Cowboys fan on a Patriots board. I've sunk to a new low. LOL.

How is early in the game when it's 0-0 or 0-7 a bad time to score a touchdown? It's a great time, ask me. Being second in all-time receiving touchdowns could never be a hollow stat. The all-time leader played 7 more seasons than TO. Saying crap like this leads me to believe that you want to discredit him as a player because you are one in a long list of people that have a personal vendetta against him. Don't know if you really do or not. I've had some personal experience with Wade Phillips, and I know that T.O. isn't the reason you missed the playoffs last year.

I've seen TO do plenty of clutch things, but I don't pretend to have watched every game he's played.

Well, I respect your take since he was on your team for three years. Every receiver wants the ball, as does every skill player worth his salt. That by itself doesn't say anything. Dude, if things get as bad with T.O. as people think, don't think for a minute that the Bills won't tell him not to come to work. He's only there for a year. Nobody is going to dream of sucking on his Jauron.

I hear ya, but if you stick around for this long as an elite WR, you are going to encounter some of this stuff...being accused of not finishing routes on certain plays and stuff. Some of this stuff is funny, some bad, others just theatrics. Some just strange or just entertaining. These things happened (or didn't) in the past. I'm willing to give him a clean slate in Buffalo. That's where I stand, and who can blame me? T.O. is not a terrorist.

You would not hear any of this crap on ESPN if a different player did it, and different players do stuff that T.O. does, but don't get press for it because they are not T.O. That's part of my point. Marvin Harrison's gun was recently used in a situation where a man was shot and a young child was injured with glass in his eyes, I believe. This happened last year and we haven't heard much about it. Why? Because he's Marvin Harrison and has a good rep. If this happened to T.O., they'd probably have to create a whole new channel for it.

The bottom line, and I'm sure that you'll agree with me, is that T.O. sets himself up for this stuff. He needs to be smarter about what he says, that's all.

Thanks for that. I agree. I also have to admit that I was against T.O. coming here when he was cut by Dallas. Then I thought twice when he was signed. He's a great player put on a team that needed some serious help at that position. We have nothing to lose, and our team is improved. Makes things more interesting for sure, which is why we are on the 17th page of this topic on a board devoted to an entirely different team.

This is always open to interpretation. You can't always go by last year's records, but as things stand right now, all three AFC East teams are all represented in the top 7 hardest schedules in 2009. You can say this or that, but teams change over a year with parody and all that happy crappy. But last year's records are all we have to go by at this point. If I knew who was going to win, I'd be a millionaire. And yes, it's even possible that the Bills win the division. Who would have thought that the Dolphins would have won the division after going 1-15 the year before, lucky to win that one game in overtime after the Ravens missed the winning kick?

The Cowboys were favorites to win the Super Bowl in a lot of circles, yet they didn't even make the playoffs.

Anything could happen, which makes it fun to follow.

I see you are informed. Pettigrew would be really nice to have. Edwards is an accurate passer. With Owens and Evans forcing opponents to respect our passing attack, this will force teams to take 8 men out of the box to stop the run. In effect, this will open a lot of underneath stuff for a good TE, not to mention Josh Reed, who can finally be utilized for his strengths.

I think the Bills might just as easily go DE in the draft, though. The Bills had no pass rush last year, which really hurt us, especially after Schobel got hurt relatively early on.

We need a G, TE, DE, LB, and possibly a Center. If we can get some quality players at these positions, the Bills will compete next year. We got a little banged up last year, which really made us look worse than we are. Kinda worried about the coaching, though.

I too think the Bills wil/can win 10-11 games next season. :)

It will still put you 3-4 games behind the Patriots, though. The upcoming edition of the Pats is being set up by Bill Belichick to be the strongest team he has ever fielded.

The Offense he has in 2009, is better balanced, and deeper than the awesome 2007 edition. The Defense may be the fastest, quickest, and most talented, top to bottom, of any he has fielded, as well. Speed Kills!

Taken together a JUGGERNAUT of immense proportions is about to be unleashed on the NFL. It will gather strength throughout the season, and be at its best in the Playoffs.

Too bad you are in the AFCE. :(:(

This might scare me if I haven't been suckered by the Bills the last two years. Every time you think the Bills are about to take that next step, they suck even more.

I don't think Buffalo is the right place for TO. I don't think Edwards has matured enough in his growth as a QB to handle TO and his griping for the ball. Jaroun has the heavy fist of Wade Phillips. TO needs to be happy (winning and getting the ball most of the time) or under tight control by a coach.

I think it is potentially a good move for Buffalo or it can be a disaster. TO probably won't get the national attention that he wants up in Buffalo. But he will be the biggest star in the region. Will that be enough for his massive ego?

Eagles went to the Superbowl with TO, Cowboys were the #1 seed in the NFC 2 years ago.

Well he is close enough to the NYC mediots and the BSPN "journalists" that he will be right at home.

I find this all ironic that "America's Team" let go of this guy. So if they can handle him, who can??

He's working for Canada's Team now.

The season before Owens got to Philadelphia, the Eagles went 12-4 and lost in the NFCCG. In Owens' first season in Philly, the team went 13-3 during the regular season. However, Owens didn't play in the playoffs until the Super Bowl, due to injury, and that was the game the Eagles lost.

I disagree, I see little downside here for the Bills. Its a nice move with little risk. Unfortunately for them they have many more problems than just WR.

You're right Owens had nothing to do with them winning 13 games.

Buffalo is going to be a lot harder to stop than in years past. We know what he can do on the field and his first year with a team is usually his best as he's looking to prove everyone wrong. If there is one thing we can take comfort in, it's that Springs has matched up with T.O. before and has done a very good job. AND it's that they're now looking to outscore us next season in order to win, which will not happen.

Here was your post:

Nowhere there is any mention about 13-3. I was the one who pointed out the 13 wins, as a matter of fact.

My bad, didn't mean to attack you like that. It annoys me when people try to act like TO isn't a good football player. You cannot deny that on the field he had positive impacts on both the Eagles in 2004 superbowl year and the Cowboys 2007 #1 seed team. He is an amazing player and that cannot be denied. If you want to attack his off the field/locker room antics well thats fair game. However strictly as a player his talent is second to none.

Actually, it's third to none at the most. Off the top of my head, I would put him below Fitzgerald and Moss. That's just off the top of my head. I haven't had the chance to go through the full list of starting NFL receivers and don't want to. He IS very talented, but he's not the most talented receiver in the NFL and never has been over his career.

Re: T.Owens visits and signs 1 year deal with Bills (merged)

Not linking this signing at all- not sure why so many other people are pumped. He makes the Bills very dangerous, and he can't start too much trouble on a one year contract.

I'm neither clueless or a troll. I've talked about things of substance while here, whether you agree with them or not. I've never tried to cause trouble or harrass anyone. The only thing you've done is call me names rudely and try to make this into a personal thing for some unknown reason.

Keep closing your ears to an open debate and remain ignorant. WTF do I care? Tell me why you think I'm wrong or don't waste my time. I understand that you don't like me, and it might surprise you to find that I might feel the same way about you.

Everything I said the post you replied to was true. The Patriots never planned on starting Brady. How can you call yourself a Pats fan and not know this, and why do you so adamently deny it?
