Pittsburgh fans.

Those people, paranoid about the legacy of 70's Steelers, have made it a part of their existance to downplay the Patriots dynasty.

Imagine if the Steelers can lay claim to TWO Super Bowl titles since the last time the Patriots won their last one. Not to mention, it would be their 6th Super Bowl title.

Even if the Patriots would have a 3 to 2 lead in the decade, the what have you done for me now media will start trumpeting the Steelers as a legitimate possible claim holder to "team of the decade" status. CBS would probably love it, as they could set up the Patriots and Steelers all year next year as a 70's type Steeler-Cowboy decade deciding battle.

But who needs to hear those yahoos all year long.

Please Arizona, kick the yellow out the Steelers butts!!!!!!!!!!

you're preaching to the choir my friend

Re: All Patriot Nation MUST root for Arizona and heres why.....

Can the Steeler secondary handle Larry Fitzgerald? I think that is what the game will come down to.

The guy already won me a fantasy football championship this year...cheering for him a little bit more is no problem here. :D

What Patriot fan would root for the Squeelers anyway?

I think Steeler fans think they drew another Seattle Seahawk type matchup.

But you are right, the Cardinals passing game could blow up all expectations.

Could the Giants secondary handle Randy Moss? Could our secondary handle Torry Holt? The question is not in the secondary my friend. The question is: can the Squealer pass rush get to Kurt Warner?

Not as scary as the Pittsburgh female population...

Yeah god help all the people who watch the SB this year....them towels are going to be in force.

Damn them squeelers.

GO CARDS!!! :D

Re: All Patriot Nation MUST root for Arizona and heres why.....

Oh, I totally agree. You have to worry about Fitzgerald catching passes from Warner, who have both been awesome this year. If Fitz is covered, you have Boldin or Breaston open. Plus Edge has been solid in the playoffs and is going to be a FA in March looking for one last decent payday. Tim Hightower is no slouch, either. If Ben has a SB game like he did in XL, they are going to be screwed.

It all hinges on Warner...if he looks like a confused old man out there like he has done in the past, the game will be over by halftime. But if it's tied going into the 4th, I think the Cards win.

Anyways, yes, I will be supporting AZ...Steeler fans range from good guys (I know a couple who are close friends) to complete scumbags (Bernard Pollard Fan Club guy). And, they are HGH users...that is what I read on Espn. And everything on Espn is based in concrete fact, right?

I know what you mean, but Fitz has been playing at another level in the playoffs. It has been ridiculous.

And I cannot answer your question. Probably, but we keep counting out the Cards, and they keep domination teams.

That's EXACTLY why I'm counting them out right now, lol. :D

Re: All Patriot Nation MUST root for Arizona and heres why.....

I'll be rooting for the Cards, simply for the reason being THEY BEAT PHILLY!:)

However, sadly, I don't think it'll happen. Sure-Pitt has some issues on the OL, and Big Ben holds onto the ball too long, but the Pitt D will be way too much for Zona's O. I think Fitz and Boldin match up very well with Pitt's DBs(especially Ike Taylor), but Pitt's blitzing schemes will really throw off Warner.

I just hope it's not the same refereeing crew as that Super Bowl.......

Re: All Patriot Nation MUST root for Arizona and heres why.....

I was surprised Vegas has the Cards as 7-point underdogs. I figured it would be by more than that.

The Eagles got some shots on Warner, and the Steelers will make it even uglier than the Iggles did. If the Cards can put some points on the board and get a lead, forcing the Steelers to drop the run, it should be interesting. Put the games in the shaky hands of Rothel-something and good things can happen - for the Cards.

My AFC fanship expired when the Donkeys broke the 12 year streak the NFC had going in Super Bowls. I'm backing the Cards all the way in this game.

If the Cards hadn't abandoned the run in the 2nd half(before that game winning drive), they would have blown out the Eagles.(also-Boldin was wide open to make it 31-6 early in the 2nd half, but Warner missed him) It also appeared the Cards took their feet off the gas pedal before they rallied at the end.

I'm sure if they're in this similar situation in the 2nd half of the Super Bowl, Todd Haley will likely stick with the run game, and the players will keep their feet on the gas pedal.

Come on, most of us are Red Sox fans, and must live with the knowledge that the Yankees have 26 titles. That doesn't take away from our titles. There is no such thing as a ten year buffer. This Patriots team has secured their place in history. We never lost to the Steelers in the postseason. And who cares what CBS says?

I'm rooting for the Cardinals because they're the underdogs. If you watch this Superbowl with the mentality that the Patriots' legacy is on the line then you're working yourself up over nothing.

Pittsburgh fans.

I'm sorry; fans of other teams don't run my life. I root for who I want regardless of other fans. I expect I'll root for Pittsburgh because I'd rather have the more deserving team win the Super Bowl (although in some ways having Arizona win would be cool).

Good post! I will be rooting for the Cardinals not because they are the underdogs, but I hate Steeler Nation, got nothing to do with Pats legacy.
