I am so sick and tired of reading the national media pieces on how badly the Cardinals played. Its exactly the opposite. The Patriots played great in terrible conditions. They executed a great game plan, played inspired special teams and shut down the vaunted Cardinals offense. Would anyone expect the Cardinals to run the ball 8 straight times ... No, but the Patriots were ready to make the adjustment. The Pats threw up 47 points in the middle of a snow storm. They scored on 9 of the first 10 possesions. Over 500 yards in total offense.

Nobody wants to play the Patriots in the playoffs!

I agree, the Patriots played well and deserve that credit. But, come on, the Cardinals totally laid down yesturday. RARELY have I seen a playoff team look so inept. Had Detroit played them yesterday, they might be 1-14.

Like everything, I think it's fairly safe to say that this is probably a combination of the 2. Great play by the Pats and sh!tty play by the Cards.

I actually got to go to the game yesterday (someone I know w season tix didn't want to brave the storm). Last time I was at Gillette was the snowy 04 divisional game v the Colts, so I guess I have a trend when it comes to the games I get to go to.

Not to take away anything from the Pats, who played a stellar game on both sides of the ball, but its hard to talk about that game without mentioning the Cardinals performance being one of the most pathetic I've ever witnessed. They really had no intention of putting up a fight from that game, and you could feel it from the first snap. You'd think they'd have learned from the NYG last year that going into the playoffs playing hard can reap benefits.

The Cards looked inept because the Patriots completely took them out of the game. The conditions were the same for both teams, and Cassel had never played in the snow before. I will grant you that we had the advantage of practicing outside in the weather for three days which helped aclimate the team to the cold. However it was the individuals on the field, working a a team and executing nearly flawlessly that shut down the Cardinals.

When the Pats scored their second touchdown the Cardinals just rolled over and revealed a giant "KICK ME" sign on the backs of their uniforms. They rolled over like a $5.00 whore.

I actually saw one of the Cardinal safeties play a snap with his hands in his warmer. He took them out for a brief minute to whiff on a tackle.
