Good for Charlie, he deserved one more year. Now it's time for him to **** or get off the pot.
 
He deserved one more year with the good recruiting classes he's had. He does deserve to go after next year if they're mediocre again, though.
 
I was kind of hoping he would come back here. But, good for him, I hope he has some sucess and maybe :eek: wins a bowl game!
 
I think it would have been foolish of them to give up on Charlie before Clausen's junior year.

I agree - though in this economic environment I can't help but wonder if the fact that he had 7 years left on a 10 year contract might have played into the ultimate decision.

It might well have, but Notre Dame has historically given its coaches 5 years. Willingham was an exception. For Weis' sake, I hope he can make hay with that schedule:
