Re: Brady Has 2nd surgery

That's sad.

The dealio here is that Tom's Knee is damn near the property of the New England Patriots, so with that in mind Tom can have surgery anywhere in the world that he wants to have surgery, but there has to be an agreement with the club on the Doctor - and of course the club and the doc's will then share in all info regarding his knee in regards to Surgery/Rehab and follow up.

I guess what I'm saying is this, while that's a sad story - I'm willing to bet that the daily to weekly prodding that Tom's knee is getting and the sharing of information between experts will keep anything bad from happening and is light years past the exposure that Gerard knee got post surgery.

Ya know? Or am I just pissing in the wind trying to make people feel better about this.

You're right.

But this is the greatest athlete I've ever had the pleasure to watch play for one of my favorite teams.

I'm with you 100%.

Re: Brady Has 2nd surgery

Umm . . . I believe you mean hyperbaric chamber. A hyperbolic chamber would be this board since Week 1. :D :(

ha, very clever, I like it.

Re: Brady Has 2nd surgery

It's nasty. Looking back and knowing what we do now I'm amazed at how haphazard the hospital staff that was treating my wife. She was isolated and the door posted. Masks, scrubbing and gloves required before entering and exiting, equipment (stethoscopes, thermometer, blood pressure equipement, etc.) was supposed to stay in that room and used only on her. Within 2 days of her being there, equipment started leaving, masks and gloves weren't always used. It's no wonder to me that there's a MRSA outbreak in the hospitals.

I went through this after my son was born. Not fun.

Re: Brady Has 2nd surgery

Ever heard of mrsa--drug resistant staph infection. Hospitals are a common place to get them.

MRSA: Experts Answer Your Questions

Yeah - its ironic but a hospital is the LAST place you want to have surgery.

I'm kidding of course but only partly. This is one of many reasons why a lot of Moms are having babies at home these days - many families research the risks and see the chance of having a complication at home as less of a risk than getting a serious infection in the hospital.

Strange but true.

OT but US hospitals have an increasing risk of post op infection. A dirty little seret. Of course when healthcare is Nationalized, all our problems will be solved. Just wait in line.

We have socialized health care. It's top notch, non-discriminatory and don't believe the lies, the wait times aren't that bad.

Re: Brady Has 2nd surgery

First of all, if CBC says it, better get a second opinion. Secondly, I live in Ontario. They can quote median wait times but they're certainly not proper averages.

I have never, nor has anyone I know, waited more than two weeks to see a specialist. Moreover, there is NEVER a denial of care or insurance rejection.

My sister in law is a nurse in two hospitals in Detroit and from seeing both sides, I wouldn't swap ya health systems if you threw in a busload of Pats cheerleaders.

Well... no. My wife says not even then.

Oh, and we can trade links all day:

At the risk of sounding like an idiot... I dont get it? And feel kinda left out with everyone (or a couple people) hailing it as a such a clever comment.

Hyperbole (pronounced /haɪˈpɝːbəli/ hye-PER-buh-lee; "HYE-per-bowl" is a mispronunciation) comes from Greek "υπερβολή" (meaning exaggeration) and is a figure of speech in which statements are exaggerated. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally.

Hyperbaric medicine, also known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen at a higher than atmospheric pressure.
The traditional type of hyperbaric chamber used for HBOT is a hard shelled pressure vessel. Such chambers can be run at absolute pressures up to 600 kilopascals or 85 PSI (lbf/in²), nearly six atmospheres.

If you can't see the ironies in the links you posted, I don't know what to tell you. However, since this isn't the political forum, I'll leave it at that.

They're not significant enough for the presented info to go unconsidered.

Anyway, we're leaving the rusty old US economic ship to sink and things will keep getting better.

I sure hope the NFL goes European before you guys become a third world country.

And you're right. Time to return to the convo at hand. Can Brady play from a pair of cyborg legs?

I dont live in Boston so I do not see the Patriots local media. I just read on the Globes message board that Bradys doctor said there was damage in 2 different spots on Bradys knee and there was no time frame for his return. Is this true or is it made up?

I doubt the doctor would give out that kind of information.

The poster has almost 900 post. It is at the Boston Globe Patriots message boards. I have not heard this anywhere else.

Cool, and now I can tell my friends and coleagues in Montreal to stop using gray market doctors to avoid the awful waiting times and overcrowding that they constantly complain about!
