Default Globe lists out Managerial Prospects

Ok.. The Globe put together a pretty good list of potential Managers, though some were clearly done tongue in cheek.

Here is my take:
Farrell - Anything that costs the Sox to get a manager is a bad thing.
Francona - Don't think he is willing to come back even if the Sox wanted him.
Varitek - No managerial experience. Would need a few years in the minors before he's even considered.
Scioscia- Until he's actually fired, he shouldn't be on their list. That being said, he's a pretty good manager.
Gene Lamont - No thanks.
Lovullo - He's a guy who I think has a good shot to be a good manager..
Dave Martinez - Another guy who I think could be a good manager.

It doesn't appear that the Managerial market is flush with talent.

My take on it is they will eff this up. Lucchino will make Cherington The Puppet take a name that they can sell to the Pink Hats instead of a quality baseball man.

Lucchino is the #1 problem. Change him, change the message delivered to the fans. Until he's gone, we're going to get more attempts at controlling the media than we are an honest attempt to rebuild the franchise.

I am still out of this team, in case you can't figure it out.

I don't know enough about the day to day op's to KNOW that the soccer team is the problem, but I would say YES unequivocally, that Henry is the number one problem. Thank God in heaven that we'd never have this problem down on Route 1.

IMO they need to do something completely different, break away from the traditional view and completely reinvent this team.. there are more teams than the Yankees they compete with..

I like the idea of a Sandy Alomar or a Brad Ausmus, we need to break the cycle of a team disciplinary guy to a guy who will somehow bring these guys together and focus on winning, not complacency or excuses for losing.
