Red Sox sign Scott Atchison
Red Sox have agreed to terms with 33-year-old right hander Scott Atchison to a one-year deal with club options for 2011 and 2012. The pitcher had previously signed with Sox in December of 2007 before deciding a week later to go to play for Japan’s Hanshin Tigers. Atchison had a 2.77 ERA over two seasons with the Tigers. In parts of three major league seasons Atchison has a 2-3 record and a 4.10 ERA. Atchinson had signed a minor-league deal with the Red Sox in 2007 before the team sold his contract to Hanshin.
