In this episode, we discussed again the moves made by the Patriots this off-season. During the show, we discussed the trades for Brandin Cooks and Kony Ealy by the Patriots. We also talked about the signings of Dont’a Hightower, and Rex Birkhead by the team.
Williams carried the ball 234 times for 1375 yards (5.9 yd avg) and 12 touchdowns in 2016 and added seven receptions for 80 yards.
Today’s installment of the history of the New Patriot franchise includes seven birthdays. Most notable among this group for their play on the field are defensive lineman Richard Bishop and running back Sammy Morris. First though we begin with an original Boston Patriot who lived long enough to see the Pats win a Superbowl.
Anderson performed well in the Crimson Tide’s defense logging 61 tackles including 19 for a loss along with 9 sacks in 2016.
As the 2017 NFL Draft draws closer we’ll profile some of the players that may be on the Patriots radar or that we feel would be a great fit.
It is a long slow off-season so let us commemorate the history of the Patriots’ franchise with birthday salutes. Today’s entries dig deep into the archives. Kudos if you remember the majority of these players.
The Saints need to realize the value Butler brings in what is now a passing league to understand that it may cost a little more than they might have thought to get him.
Bouchette wrote that Hightower “did the Steelers a favor” by rejecting their offer, calling him “overhyped’ and “overrated”.
The 31-year old Revis has been a shadow of himself the past two years and in 2016, teams didn’t shy away from Revis, they attacked him
This was a special episode of Patriots Fourth And Two as Miguel Benzan who is a Patriots salary cap expert, joined the show to talk about the Patriots off-season. Miguel shared his thoughts on Dont’a Hightower, Stephon Gilmore, Malcom Butler, Jimmy Garoppolo, Brandin Cooks, and Dwayne Allen. There will be a second interview with Miguel that will be recorded soon to discuss the rest of the Patriots moves this off-season.
The Patriots made their biggest move of an already busy free agent season by re-signing LB Dont’a Hightower to a 4-year deal worth $43.5 million.
Butler is not an unrestricted free agent. He’s still restricted and essentially belongs to New England for at least the 2017 season.
The Patriots have plenty of quickness at WR but not a ton of speed. Cooks will fix that. He has blinding speed and had TDs in 2016 of 98 and 87 yards.
In 2016 he caught 78 passes for 1173 yards (15.0-yard average) and eight touchdowns including a 98-yarder from Drew Brees.
The value of the trade is a good one for New England. They get Ealy and only move down 8 spots from the #64 to the #72 pick in the third round.
