On Wednesday, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick didn’t have too much information to provide regarding the health of quarterback Mac Jones, but he did provide yet another memorable quote in response to the constant questioning.
“What do I look like, a doctor? An orthopedic surgeon? Like, I don’t know,” Belichick said with a smirk. “Talk to the medical experts.”
Although its well-known coaches have full access to medical reports from the team staff, historically Belichick has refused to ever discuss player injuries publicly, especially with tests ongoing.
As a result, Belichick defaulted to saying that Jones is “getting better day by day”, occasionally slowing down to show off his annoyance.
Meanwhile over on social media, Belichick’s former wide receiver Julian Edelman decided to poke some fun at his coach and shared the following hilarious photoshopped image.
Since the Wednesday press conference, Jones returned to Patriots practice on Friday but didn’t move around on his injured left ankle. Backup Brian Hoyer was officially named the starter for Sunday’s game in Green Bay.
