As we know, the Patriots are going through a season that is seeing a new offense installed, which as we’ve heard, not every player has necessarily been on board with.

However, after listening to Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky, apparently, things could certainly be worse.

According to Trubisky, who has taken over an offense that used to be quarterbacked by Ben Roethlisberger, it sounds like there’s a bit of chaos in the huddle as the plays come in.  Despite the veteran relaying the calls, which presumably are coming from a staff that head coach Mike Tomlin should be on the same page with, Trubisky’s teammates apparently want him to instead override them.

The veteran admitted during his press conference that this has become a problem and that the “suggestions” those guys are making are hampering the offense.

“When everybody is saying ‘call this play, call that play,’ it makes it tough for everybody to do their jobs.  I think everybody just needs to worry about their job,” Trubisky said via Steeler Nation. “We’ll just keep growing and going in the right direction together. That’s my take on it.”

“Everyone’s got suggestions. Everybody wants the ball in their hands. We’ve got a bunch of talent, and we’ve just got to figure out what works best for us going forward.”

It certainly makes you wonder what things were like when Roethlisberger was there, which now instead has players in the huddle trying to get a new player with no tenure with the team to break the rules.

We already know that there’s been some frustration with the offense here in New England, with Kendrick Bourne being a player who immediately comes to mind.  Still, Trubisky’s comments are yet another example of the apparent disarray going on for a franchise that’s also in transition, and the contrast of how things are going here by comparison.

Time will tell what the results will be, but at least when Mac Jones is huddling up with the offense, for better, or for worse, at least he and the players – for now – remain on the same page.
