Brandon Bolden Shares Health Update Following Past Battle With Cancer
Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports
New England Patriots running back and special teamer Brandon Bolden put together one of his most productive seasons this past year, but as he revealed in December, Bolden’s football career nearly came to an end three years earlier.
On December 30th 2021, Bolden shared over social media a video montage featuring trips to the hospital after having an epidermoid carcinoma (a form of skin cancer) removed from his face.
Bolden’s initial cancer diagnosis came just days after playing in Super Bowl LII against the Philadelphia Eagles and said he feared he may never be able to play football again at the time. Thankfully Bolden responded well to the ensuing treatment and became cancer free.
Fast forward to Tuesday, Bolden shared yet another positive health update over Twitter, stating that his latest scan also revealed no cancer.
Great news.

As for on the football field, Bolden will hit free agency this month but remains a likely candidate to return in 2022.
Following the loss of running back James White last season, Bolden stepped up to be the teams primary passing back and finished with a career high 405 passing yards and 41 receptions for fourth on the team.
Back in January, Bolden clarified he has zero intentions to retire while praising his teammates for a successful year.
