New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones finally has some time to relax and reflect upon his first season in the NFL.
Jones, who started all 17 regular-season games, and the wild-card playoff in Buffalo, re-wrote quite a few of the Patriots rookie quarterback records. As a result of his efforts, Jones was rewarded with an invitation to the Pro Bowl.
Now with his first real offseason underway, Jones took some time to talk about his first-year experiences and the importance of having time to slow down, take it all in, and learn from it all in preparation for next year.
“I think back to my freshman year at Alabama. You’re kind of figuring everything out and then you get older and you’re just more experienced. Everything: The media, the games, everything,” Jones said in a video released by the Patriots social media team. “I think that’s the fun part of about everything in the offseason. You get a second to just catch your breath and figure everything out. This has definitely been the longest year. It’s been like almost two years of football. I love football. I love to keep going as best I can but it’s always good to step away and evaluate what you can get better at, too.”
You can take a listen to Jones’ full thoughts below.
