For the first time since announcing his retirement, Tom Brady has revealed one of his new career moves.
According to the Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, Brady will be playing himself (in a minor role) within a new movie entitled “80 For Brady” that he is also the producer of.
The report states the movie is a “football-themed road trip” that will feature well-known actresses Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field in a joint project by Paramount Pictures and Endeavor Content.
Here is a brief summary of the plot courtesy of the Hollywood reporter:
“Inspired by a true story, Brady tells of four best friends and New England Patriots fans who take a life-changing trip to the 2017 Super Bowl LI to see their quarterback hero, Tom Brady, play and the chaos that ensues as they navigate the wilds of the biggest sporting event in the country. Tomlin, Fonda, Moreno, and Field will play the quartet.”
The film’s director is Kyle Marvin, who co-wrote the script with Michael Covino.
The Hollywood Reporter also states Brady was “deeply involved” with the film from its earliest beginnings. He developed the idea with Donna Gigliotti, who has produced Oscar-Award-winning films such as “Silver Linings Playbook” and “Shakespeare in Love.”
Production on the film will begin this spring, stay tuned!
