New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones put together an impressive rookie season and now he can add Pro Bowl honors to his list of early career achievements.

On Sunday, the NFL revealed Jones earned an invitation after a few other AFC Pro Bowl quarterbacks opted out of playing in the annual All-Star Game. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen recently declined his invite and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is now ineligible to play due to his team in the Super Bowl.

Selected 15th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, Jones threw 22 touchdowns to 13 interceptions while completing 67.6 percent of his passes for 3,801 passing yards during his rookie campaign to help the Patriots return to the playoffs with a 10-7 record. For his efforts, he was named one of six finalists for the NFL’s Rookie of The Year Award.

The 22 touchdowns set a Patriots single-season rookie record while his completion percentage was the second-best in NFL history for any rookie quarterback. He becomes the first Patriots rookie to earn Pro Bowl honors since Devin McCourty in 2010.

Jones will join teammates J.C. Jackson, Matthew Judon, and Matthew Slater in Las Vegas for the February 6th game.
