The New England Patriots 2021 season came to an end this past Sunday in Buffalo, but after going 7-9 a year ago to 10-7 and a playoff berth this year, the positivity remained high within the organization this week as they turn the page to 2022.
On Sunday, head coach Bill Belichick started things off by giving praise to his team for their efforts during his final press conference of the year.
“I have a lot of respect for the players and coaches and just in general the team, the support people. This group has worked extremely hard and they’ve given their best, we’ve all given our best, and it obviously didn’t work out for us the way we wanted it to last night,” Belichick said.
Belichick later went on to compliment his quarterback and the rest of the rookie class for their contributions.
“Mac helped us a lot. I look forward to working with him next year,” Belichick said. “We all have things to work on, that goes for every player, and that’ll be part of the conversation with every player and for the coaching staff.”
“I thought in general our rookie class was a mature class, they handled things well,” Belichick went on to say. “But, it was their first year, and hopefully they’ll learn and grow from it and be able to use the experience this year to move to a higher level next year.”
As the week progressed, numerous members of the team echoed the sentiment of their coach and took to their social media pages to share their own final messages about the season along with optimism they’ll be taking into next year.
