Tonight the Falcons play the Patriots. Also tonight there is a partial lunar eclipse that will last 3 hours and 28 minutes. You can’t even make this stuff up anymore.
The next time Earth will see a partial lunar eclipse as lengthy as tonight’s will be in 648 years. pic.twitter.com/Ji87vPlWDj

Looking for some separation on the scoreboard, the Patriots offense finally found the end zone when Mac Jones threw a 19-yard touchdown reception to Nelson Agholor.

While the first half overall was a bit of a struggle for the Mac and the offense, the Patriots defense overpowered the Falcons offensive line and quarterback Matt Ryan.
A Nick Folk field goal just before halftime gave the Patriots a 13-0 heading into the locker room.

Judon – Def player of the year ??
— Rodney Harrison (@Rodney_Harrison) November 19, 2021
Matthew Judon is the first Patriots player to record double-digit sacks since Chandler Jones in 2015.

The Patriots lead the Falcons 13-0 at halftime on #ThursdayNightFootball. The last time they lost when leading by double digits at halftime was Week 1, 2014 vs the Dolphins.
43 straight wins when leading by double digits at halftime is the longest active streak in the NFL.

In the second half, it remained more of the same for the Falcons as the Patriots defense prevented any ball movement (including the stop below), but neither team could find points in the third quarter.

At the start of the fourth, the Falcons appeared to be in a position to make it a game after crossing midfield, but once again the Patriots defense had other ideas.

Devin McCourty moves into third all time in #Patriots history with his 30th career interception. He needs just six more to tie the franchise record — held by Ty Law and Raymond Clayborn. #Patriots

Dugger beating up Pitts at the LOS. Throw off the timing. Hightower with the left hand up to disrupt the throw of the right handed QB, McCourty gets the gift. Textbook.

The McCourty interception set up a Nick Folk 53 yard field goal to extend the Patriots lead to 16.

The Patriots have held their opponent to single-digit points in three straight games for the first time since 2005 (in the same season).

Third pick six in four games for the #Patriots defense. They haven’t allowed a single point since the 10:06 mark of the first quarter last week.

The defense would preserve the Patriots 25-0 shutout victory, the 13th such a win under head coach Bill Belichick.
Following the Buffalo Bills loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, the Patriots found themselves in first place in the AFC East for the first time since the 2019 season.
The Patriots have outscored opponents 175-50 during their five-game win streak.

Meanwhile, they've now scored at least 25 points in six games.
That's tied for the second-most such games in the NFL this year.
No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have yet to eclipse 25 points in a game this season (their max is 23 vs. Miami)

After going 22-for-26 (84.6%) last night, Mac Jones became the first rookie in NFL history to complete at least 80% of his passes in back-to-back games (min. 15 attempts), per @EliasSports.
He currently ranks 3rd in the NFL for the season at 70.2%.
