Earlier this week, former nine game participant with the New England Patriots, linebacker Cassius Marsh made headlines after making comments critical of the franchise during a recent podcast appearance.

Speaking with with comedian Tom Segura on the “2 Bears, 1 Cave”podcast, Marsh had the following to say about his experience in New England.

“The Patriot Way is extremely impressive,” Marsh said. “They work day-in and day-out. The work ethic over there, what they instill, is pretty legendary.

“But they also treat players like crap. You don’t have a lunch period. You get there and you have to make time to eat in between meetings. And they’re like five to ten-minute periods where I would literally go scoop food and put it in a cup and crush it real quick before I got to the next meeting. There’s no fun.”

Marsh was waived in late November 2017 after an initial trade to the Patriots from the Seattle Seahawks just before the start of the season.

A year later, a 2018 report discovered Marsh threw a halftime tirade in the team locker room just two days before his release.

But back to this week, former Patriots assistant coach Joe Judge and current Giants head coach used Marsh’s comments as an opportunity to share a Julian Edelman story from the 2017 season that provided a behind-the-scenes look at how the team responded to his antics.

Take a listen to Judge’s full story during his appearance on the Ringer’s “Flying Coach Podcast” below.

In the aftermath of Marsh’s Patriots departure, the team of went on to appear in yet another Super Bowl that season while Marsh has gone on to play for six NFL teams in four years. He was resigned by the Pittsburgh Steelers back in March.
