On Tuesday, the New England Patriots announced that the team will hold joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles prior to their preseason game on Thursday, Aug. 19 in Pennsylvania.

According to a Patriots press release, the practice sessions will take place on Monday, Aug. 16 and Tuesday, Aug. 17 at times yet to be determined. Joint practices were not allowed in 2020 and all preseason games were cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions during the pandemic.

Previously, the Patriots last held joint practices with the Eagles during the 2014 preseason at Gillette Stadium.

With NFL COVID-19 safety protocols more relaxed heading into the 2021 season, the Patriots will be able to participate in practices with other teams for the first time since 2019 when they were in Nashville with the Titans and Detroit with the Lions.

As for the last time the Patriots practiced with the Eagles in Philadelphia, you have to go all the way back to the 2013 preseason when both teams worked out together.

Presently, it remains unknown at this time if whether or not the general public will be allowed to attend these practices with the Eagles.

In addition to the Eagles, the Patriots will also host the New York Giants in Foxborough for another set of joint practices before the final preseason game on Sunday, August 29th.

The workouts with the Eagles will provide a reunion of sorts for both Nelson Agholor and Jalen Mills, both of which won Super Bowl LII with the team in 2017 and began their respective careers there.
