The New England Patriots wrapped up the third and final week of organized team activities this week at Gillette Stadium.

Two notable storylines for this week included the return of veteran linebacker Dont’a Hightower on Thursday after a season away from the team after opting out over COVID-19 safety concerns.

Also on Thursday, tight end Hunter Henry left practice with a leg injury but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport later reported it was “nothing serious”.

Meanwhile quarterback Cam Newton missed the full week of practice following the right hand injury he sustained last week, enabling more rep opportunities for the trio of Jarrett Stidham, Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer.

“He’s doing all right. He won’t participate today but he’s getting better,” Belichick said of Newton Thursday morning. “He’s not out there but I think he’ll be all right.”

Check out some of the best sights and sounds from the Gillette Stadium practice fields, as OTA’s conclude below. The offseason will then formally finish up after mandatory minicamp scheduled for June 15-17th when the whole team will be in attendance together for the first time.

Jake Bailey had the distance on a 70-yard field goal try (albeit an uncontested one off a tee). Pushed it just right.

The apparently multitalented Joe Cardona also drilled one from 45 yards.

Patriots rookie WR Tre Nixon said Ernie Adams was the first person he saw when he walked into Gillette Stadium. Adams was the one who made the decision to draft him.

As the 3rd media-accessible @patriots practice, Thursday’s OTA marked our first look in 2021 at Dont’a Hightower (54), Devin McCourty, J.C. Jackson (27) and Trent Brown, among others. https://t.co/GtxR4rblFX

Mac Jones is tough on himself and you can see it.

Jones' throw is low to Devin Asiasi, he lets him know, 'my bad'. Next pass he corrects it and has better ball placement to Hunter Henry. pic.twitter.com/RVavyfYvFt
