Julian Edelman is wasting no time attempting to return to the Patriots this season.

Just a week after surgery on his knee, Edelman shared a workout photograph over Instagram alongside another encouraging motivational quote.

Forward or backward. There is no in between”, Edelman wrote.

Back on October 31st, Edelman landed on injured reserve following a “precautionary standard knee procedure,” ruling him out for at minimum three games, therefore the earliest he could return is against the Texans on November 22nd.

Edelman’s nagging knee issues impacted production this season, as he has just 21 catches for 315 yards and no touchdowns.

As it stands, head coach Bill Belichick expects Edelman to return this season, but in the meantime the depth chart at receiver will consist of Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers, N’Keal Harry, Gunner Olszewski and newcomer Isaiah Ford, who won’t be available this Sunday due to COVID-19 protocols.
