The 2020 season has been an emotional one for New England Patriots running back James White.

Team performance aside, White has had his life turned upside down this fall following the unexpected and tragic passing of his father, Tyrone, in a car accident last month.

White’s mother, Lisa, is also recovering from the accident in South Florida.

On Wednesday, White shared a positive update on her condition, stating she is “doing better”.

After spending time away from football to be with his family, White returned to the Patriots in Week 6.

Despite having to now play football with both his parents on his mind, White credited his coaches and teammates for helping him during these difficult times.

“We have great guys in this locker room that we stay together on and off the football field,” White said. “So those guys have helped me through this whole thing. I am just going to keep pushing forward, and like I said, do whatever I can to help my team win.”

On Instagram this week, White continued to live by that philosophy, sharing a photo posting with a caption that read “weather the storm”.

Weather the storm

With weather conditions in Buffalo expected to be very windy on Sunday, White and his fellow running backs may be seeing a lot of action in what quarterback Cam Newton called a “must win” game against the first place Bills.

Weather the storm.
