Dion Lewis Named AFC Offensive Player Of The Week

On Wednesday, the New England Patriots announced that running back Dion Lewis was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Patriots Week 16 victory over the Buffalo Bills. The honor marks the second time in Lewis’ career that he was selected for a weekly honor, he earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after Week 10 this season against the Denver Broncos.
On Sunday against the Bills, Lewis ran for a career high 129 rushing yards on 24 attemps with a rushing touchdown. He also caught five passes for 24 yards and a receiving touchdown. In 2017, Lewis has now tallied 803 total rushing yards on 154 attempts with five rushing touchdowns. On the recieving end, Lewis has 26 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdown receptions.
Lewis’ Player of the Week selection marks the seventh time in the 2017 season that a Patriot has earned a Player of the Week award.
