On Monday, it was first feared that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski suffered a punctured lung on this hit by Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas .

After the game, Gronk held no ill will against Thomas, even prasing him for the hit stating;

“That was a big hit for sure. Probably one of the hardest I’ve got hit in my career for sure. By a good player; a good fast player who’s like a missile. It was a good, clean hit; nothing against it.”

Luckily for Gronkowski, the punctured lung was not the case following an updated injury report broken by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Gronkowski is still expected to miss Sunday’s game versus the San Francisco 49ers.

Being told Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has a chest injury – not a punctured lung – that is considered "not overly serious."

In response to the news, Thomas took to Twitter on Tuesday and sent out a classy gesture of support by wishing Gronk well with a speedy recovery.

Nothing but respect for Gronk. One of the best I've lined up against. Hoping to see him back on the field sooner than later.

The respect is mutual man, you got the best of me on that one. The grind is real, you showed the fans a real football hit. https://t.co/p57PLVQZ3C

Now that is sportsmanship.
