Patriots By the Numbers, Fun Facts Before the Bills Game

The Patriots take their 3-0 road record to Western New York on Sunday to take on the Bills in a big divisional game for both teams. The CBS crew of Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts, and Evan Washburn will be on the call for this one.

The first meeting between the two teams in Buffalo was back in December of 1960 with the Bills taking a 38-14 decision over the Pats.

Since the 2014 season, Tom Brady is 11-0 in October starts with an incredible 33 touchdowns and 1 interception. His passer rating is 124.3. His 47 wins in the month of October is the most of any QB in NFL history.

So with the wait before the game tomorrow afternoon, here are some other interesting numbers to pore over.

4: Super Bowl wins by HC Bill Belichick, tied for most with Steelers Coach Chuck Noll

4: Number of times Tom Brady has led the NFL in TD passes. Tied with Len Dawson, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Johnny Unitas, and Steve Young

5: Number of consecutive Conference Title games by NE, tied with Oakland (73-77)

6: Number of consecutive games to start the season without throwing an interception. The NFL record is Nine (Cleveland 1960)

7: Number of consecutive Division Titles by NE, tied with Rams (73-79)

7: Number of consecutive years in the playoffs, only five teams have reached 8 in a row

13: Number of 30-yard punt returns by Julian Edelman, 2nd most in Patriots team history. Troy Brown leads with 14.

13: Number of Division Titles by Belichick, tied with Tom Landry, and Don Shula

13: Number of Division Titles by Tom Brady, most of any QB in NFL history, Peyton Manning is 2nd with 12

13: Number of consecutive 10-win seasons by NE

15: Number of seasons since the Patriots were swept by a division opponent. Buffalo has a chance to break that streak tomorrow.

15: Consecutive winning seasons by NE, can tie SF, Dallas for most since 1970 merger

17: Number of seasons by Tom Brady, most in team history passing Steve Grogan

19: The longest streak of consecutive pass completions by Brady in a regular season game (Sept. 2015 vs. Pittsburgh), a team record

22: Number of 100 yard games by TE Rob Gronkowski, fourth all-time in the NFL moving past Antonio Gates. Tony Gonzalez leads with 31. Stanley Morgan leads all Patriots receivers with 38, 100 yard games.

22.2: Patriots special teams holding their opponent to an NFL-low starting possession average at the 22.2-yard line.

23: Postseason wins by Bill Belichick, most in NFL history. Landry (20) is second.

25: Number of wins by Tom Brady against Buffalo, record of 25-3. With a win tomorrow, he’d tie Brett Favre for most wins, 26 against an opponent (Detroit).

25: Number of times Tom Brady has been AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Peyton Manning has the most in NFL history with 27.

28-5: Bill Belichick’s record against Buffalo as head coach of the Patriots

30: Number of winning seasons by the Patriots since the 1970 merger. Tied for second (Dallas) in the NFL. Pittsburgh is first with 33.

30: Team scored 30 or more points for the third time in 2016 against Cincinnati. The 2015 Patriots scored 30+ points seven times.

35: Number of career rushes by Julian Edelman, tied for most in team history by a WR with Irving Fryar.

38: Number of playoff games played by the Patriots since Robert Kraft bought the team. Most in the NFL, Green Bay is second with 33.

39: Wins by the Pats since 2001 in games decided by 3 points or fewer. Top winning percentage in the NFL with .709 (39-15) during that time.

44: Since 2000 wins when a Patriot rushes for 100+ yards, record of 44-1. Only loss was at Miami in 2004, Corey Dillon rushed for 121 yards and Miami won 29-28

47: Wins by Tom Brady in the month of October, the most of any QB in NFL history

47: Number of wins (47-5) since 2008 when the Patriots don’t turn over the ball

46: Wins by the Patriots over NFC opponents since 2002, NFL best record of 46-11

52: Wins by the Patriots in the month of October since 2000. NFL best 52-17, Pittsburgh second with 46 wins,

52: Streak of consecutive games Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass, second longest in NFL history. It was broken by the Bengals in Cincinnati on 10/6/2013

58: Road wins since 2006, Pats road record of 58-25 best in the NFL

61: Number of different players that Tom Brady has thrown TD passes to. Latest was TE Martellus Bennett who had three in Cleveland.

62: Number of TD passes by Tom Brady against Buffalo. His most vs any opponent.

67: TD passes to Gronk from Tom Brady, second most in NFL history between a QB and TE. Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates lead with 79

68: Career touchdowns by Rob Gronkowski, needs one to pass Stanley Morgan (68) for most in Patriots history.

66: Most sacks in team history, back in 1963, Most by a Belichick team, 49 in 2015

69: Number of wins by the Patriots against Buffalo, their most vs any opponent.

73: Number of 300 yard games by Tom Brady. 3rd most in NFL history.

84: Number of consecutive home wins by the Patriots when leading at halftime.

86: Road wins by NE since 2000, tops in the NFL, Philadelphia is 2nd with 79

108: Wins since 2002 when not throwing an interception. NFL best 108-16

109: Number of road wins by the Patriots since Robert Kraft purchased the team in 1994. Most in the NFL at 109-70, Pittsburgh is second at 97-82.

140: Pats record of 140-43 is the best in the NFL the last decade with a winning pct of .765. Indy next with 121 wins (121-62), winning pct of .661

150: Points scored by Stephen Gostkowski in four different seasons with the Patriots. Most in the NFL.

155: Numbers of wins by Tom Brady in his first 200 starts, best in the Super Bowl era. Peyton Manning is second with 136.

179: The Patriots since the 1994 season, lead the NFL with a plus 179 turnover margin. The next closest team is KC with +110.

196: Wins by Tom Brady combined regular/post season. Needs 5 to pass Manning (200), Favre (199) for most career wins by a QB

245: Number of consecutive home games that the Patriots have been sold out.

252: Career wins by Bill Belichick, 4th place all-time in wins. Tom Landry 270 is in 3rd

436: Career TD passes by Tom Brady, 4th all-time, Drew Brees is 3rd with 445

497: Franchise wins by the Patriots, most of any original AFL team, Denver 484 is 2nd

2623: The number of points scored by the Patriots since 2011, the most in the NFL. New Orleans is second with 2407.

2329: Number of yards Tom Brady needs passing this season to pass Dan Marino (61,361) for fourth place all-time
