Patriots By the Numbers, Fun Facts Before the Cincinnati Game

The Patriots return to Gillette Stadium, taking on the Bengals on Sunday at 1 p.m. Hard to believe it but after the game tomorrow, the Patriots would already have reached the half-way point in home games played in the regular season for 2016.

The first time the Patriots and Bengals met was back on December 1, 1968, at Fenway Park with the Patriots taking a 33-14 win.

So with the wait before the game tomorrow afternoon, here are some other interesting numbers to pore over.

4: Super Bowl wins by HC Bill Belichick, tied for most with Chuck Noll

4: Number of times Tom Brady has led the NFL in TD passes. Tied with Len Dawson, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Johnny Unitas, and Steve Young

5: Number of consecutive Conference Title games by NE, tied with Oakland (73-77)

7: Number of consecutive Division Titles by NE, tied with Rams (73-79)

7: Number of consecutive years in the playoffs, only five teams have reached 8 in a row

13: Number of 30-yard punt returns by Julian Edelman, 2nd most in Patriots team history. Troy Brown leads with 14.

13: Number of Division Titles by Belichick, tied with Tom Landry, and Don Shula

13: Number of Division Titles by Tom Brady, most of any QB in NFL history, Peyton Manning is 2nd with 12

13: Number of consecutive 10-win seasons by NE

15: Consecutive winning seasons by NE, can tie SF, Dallas for most since 1970 merger

17: Number of seasons by Tom Brady, most in team history passing Steve Grogan

19: The longest streak of consecutive pass completions by Brady in a regular season game (Sept. 2015 vs. Pittsburgh), a team record

21: Number of 100-yard games by TE Rob Gronkowski, tied for fourth all-time in the NFL with Antonio Gates. Tony Gonzalez leads with 31.

21: Wins by the Patriots against the AFC North since the realignment of 2002. Overall record of 21-6 against AFC North teams, including 5-1 against Cincinnati.

23: Postseason wins by Bill Belichick, most in NFL history. Landry (20) is second.

25: Number of times Tom Brady has been AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Peyton Manning has the most in NFL history with 27.

30: Team scored 30 or more points for the second time in 2016 last week. The 2015 Patriots scored 30+ points seven times.

35: Number of times that the Patriots have had two receivers with 100+ yards receiving in the same game. Last week Gronkowski (109), Hogan (114).

38: Number of playoff games played by the Patriots since Robert Kraft bought the team. Most in the NFL, Green Bay is second with 33.

39: Wins by the Pats since 2001 in games decided by 3 points or fewer. Top winning percentage in the NFL with .709 (39-15) during that time.

43: Since 2000 wins when a Patriot rushes for 100+ yards, record of 43-1. Only loss was at Miami in 2004, Corey Dillon rushed for 121 yards and Miami won 29-28

46: Number of wins (46-5) since 2008 when the Patriots don’t turn over the ball

46: Wins by the Patriots over NFC opponents since 2002, NFL best record of 46-11

52: Streak of consecutive games Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass, second longest in NFL history. It was broken by the Bengals in Cincinnati on 10/6/2013

57: Road wins since 2006, Pats road record of 57-25 best in the NFL

61: Number of different players that Tom Brady has thrown TD passes to. Latest was TE Martellus Bennett who had three on Sunday.

64: TD passes to Gronk from Tom Brady, second most in NFL history between a QB and TE. Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates lead with 77

66: Career touchdowns by Rob Gronkowski, needs three to pass Stanley Morgan (68) for most in Patriots history.

66: Most sacks in team history, back in 1963, Most by a Belichick team, 49 in 2015

85: Road wins by NE since 2000, tops in the NFL, Philadelphia is 2nd with 79

106: Wins since 2002 when not throwing an interception. NFL best 106-16

138: Pats record of 138-43 is the best in the NFL the last decade with a winning pct of .762. Indy next with 120 wins (120-61), winning pct of .663

155: Numbers of wins by Tom Brady in his first 200 starts, best in the Super Bowl era. Peyton Manning is second with 136.

180: The Patriots since the 1994 season, lead the NFL with a plus 180 turnover margin. The next closest team is KC with +110.

195: Wins by Tom Brady combined regular/post season. Needs 6 to pass Manning (200), Favre (199) for most career wins by a QB

244: Number of consecutive home games that the Patriots have been sold out.

250: Career wins by Bill Belichick, 4th place all-time in wins. Tom Landry 270 is in 3rd

432: Career TD passes by Tom Brady, 4th all-time, Drew Brees is 3rd with 438

495: Franchise wins by the Patriots, most of any original AFL team, Denver 483 is 2nd

2561: The number of points scored by the Patriots since 2011, the most in the NFL. Denver is second with 2360.

2927: Number of yards Tom Brady needs passing this season to pass Dan Marino (61,361) for fourth place all-time
