I don't know if anyone has looked at all the new farm system reports coming out of ESPN, but it's not looking great for us. I remember a few years back when we had one of the top rated farm systems, but not anymore. Only 2 of our prospects came in the top 100. Analysts are saying that we have some decent talent in the lower end but not much up high creating a real gap. Plus we apparently haven't done as well drafting recently. Part of our key to our success has been that farm system.

all of our talent is in the lower AA and A.

Hopefully our big league contracts can bridge the gap until the lower level players are ready

We traded a number of the ++ prospects the last couple of years. Adrian Gonzales being the biggest example. This winter Reddick and 2 minor leaguers were traded for Bailey and Sweeney.

saying all our talent is in the lower levels is a great way of saying: "we don't have a good farm system right now" a lot of the guys who they say will be stars in a couple years will turn out to be borderline bench players or last man in the bullpen kind of guys
