OT: Chris Simms has spleen removed

Peter King on NBC's Football Night in America says Chris Simms "is NOT" in critical condition, per a Buc source.

i heard it could be a ruptured spleen..also heard punctured lung. i really hope hes okay..no 1 should go through that kind of stuff

I don't think it could be that bad. They said he had a problem during the game, left, and came back. If your lung is punctured you wouldn't be able to and the techs or docs in the locker room would have noticed. Would think the spleen injury would be too painful to keep going.

They said during the game that it was dehydration. Wonder if he has some kind of condition that isn't known to the public, but that now he is having trouble managing ? On the TV, Peter King said the GM couldn't give specifics because they had to contact the family, and they were still looking for Phil.

I hope he is ok.

Peter King has spoken with Chris' mother, and says Simms received a blood transfusion as well as having his spleen removed, and will be in the hospital for days.
