If the football gods decided that last night was the time to lose, then maybe I would not have it any other way.
When the times are lean, I want to be able to say:
(1) the officiating was good,
(2)the Pats played clean, hard football, and
(3)although lacking in talent, the Pats had all the heart.
When times are thick, I want to be able to say:
(1)the officiating was shady,
(2)the Pats were hurt by uncharacteristic errors, forced and self-inflicted alike, and
(3)the Pats did not betray their hearts.
Again, this is all given that we are destined to lose.
If the champs had to go down. At least they went down like champs. The Broncos were a worthy opponent. Imagine losing to a finesse dome team? Imagine losing to a bunch of classless punks? The Broncos aren't perfect, but they are among the respectworthy half of NFL franchises.
Sorry if this is redundant, but I've got to get on with my life, and the best way is to look toward the next season...and things look good. I look forward to playing the Broncos in the postseason next year.
