With their open roster spot, Patriots intend to sign WR/return specialist Damaris Johnson, who worked out Monday and has remained in town.

Can THIS guy catch a damn punt ? I hope so.

From Caplan in response to Reiss:

I honestly think Harper's cut had less to do with dropping the punt and more to do with:

A) Possibly ignoring instruction to not even try to field the punt.

and/or

B) Contributing literally NOTHING else to the offense all day.

WR/return specialist

Has a 9.4 punt return average on 47 returns and also knows how to fair catch (has 39 fair catches)

Ahhh ... A Swede ... transfer from the Swedish hockey league perhaps?

An 'n' makes all the difference in the world. jk

That's a nice average - but as long as he can catch the thing he could average 0.0 for all I care. All night, especially in that weather, every punt I said "just catch the ball". But noooooo, can't do that. Hopefully this guy can.

Chris Harper's nameplate is still on his locker

Sounds like he'll be back on the PS once he clears waivers this afternoon.

It will be interesting to see if he picks things up fast enough to be active sunday.

Good I sure hope so I cannot imagine how he must feel.

All he has to do is get under the punt and raise his right arm. I doubt we'll see him on offense, although being with Houston last year, who knows.

I was hoping they'd pick him up, he had a ton of college production, in 3 seasons he had 2746 yds receiving, 1062 on the ground, he's also productive returner as well. I think he'd be a great fit personally. He's also had some nfl production in a similar system at Texans. Looks like a guy who works wonders in space....

Not sure he'll do much this year but interesting pick up imo...

EDIT: And he's a midget so that always helps of course...

You know what a powerhouse those Swedes are when it comes to kick returners!

Another 5'8 Guy who had a stint with Philly...things that make you go Hmmmm.
