I don't see a delete link button.Once you have typed a response and hit enter, the comment appears on the thread.
Have you tried hitting the delete link at the bottom of the comment rather than backspacing?

on the left:

Not under More OptionsIf it is not under that 'More Options' button on the far right, then we will have to summon this website's one-man IT Department (aka Ian).
