Breaking: Diggs traded to Texans

you are talking about a receiver who was on par with demario douglas last year... and a punter who has yet to play a down in the nfl...
Mahomes - 28,000 passing yards 219 TDs over 6 seasons

Lamar - 16,000 passing yards 125 TDs over 6 seasons.

It's really not that difficult.

Malcontent. But then he drops passes.

It's the receiver who is the question mark.. Not the quarterback.

Will he do better with mahomes, sure. Most guys will. But cats don't change their stripes. Its really not hard to understand.

The key difference is that the Texans have Stroud on a below market contract whereas Allen's contract with the Bills is a top of market contract.

This is IMO a clear illustration of why we need to keep drafting rookie quarterbacks till we hit on one.

Bills hit on Allen and had their window to improve, got to the AFC championships, but that's all for this cycle.

if we focus on QB to the exclusion of other areas of the field, we won't become the Bills, we'll become the Washington Football Team. How many different times was a new QB gonna come in and magically fix everything down there? The number is not small.

if you don't build out the rest of the roster no quarterback in the world is going to save you. hell, Stroud's doing what he's doing because the Texans' roster was better than we thought it was. We are NOT a year away from doing the same thing. Not unless we plug somee really sizeable holes in the trenches.

We need a LT, we need a RB, we're going to need a new C sooner than later. If we can solve those holes and pick up some decent talent at WR we can win football games. If we focus on a QB alone he's going to spend half the game on his back.

So how good is the Texans Defense? Didn’t they trade for the DE from Minnesota who is good

That offense was already gonna be elite with Tank/Nico/Dalton add another WR2 or yall wanna hate and say he’s washed he’d still draw CB2

Brown will probably be worse with a HOF QB.

Thats the way it works.

Diggs, Davis, Tre White, J Poyer and Mitch Morse. 5 core players is a lot to overcome.

I think a lot of us gave him crap without taking into account he didn't exactly have free reign on draft picks and team building. It's the main reason he left. Also, he's likely grown and learned a thing or two. Some people do that.

What you are saying is that Kraft and BB meddled in his personnel moves? Right?

Refresh my memory, was it Caserio who got us 2 seconds for Matt Cassell?
1, along with Mike Vrabel. 34th pick (Patrick Chung).

Let's talk about it after this season. If they hit on #2, no one will be talking about the Sam Howell Era any more.

Sadly if we hit on #3 people here will still be talking about 2018, Tom vs Bill, our miserly and horny old owner, etc.

While carrying a big cap number ($23M) for 35 year old Von Miller.

Apparently they're going to keep him because they reworked his contract before the start of the League Year.

That's what happens when you convince yourself you're one player away and push in all the chips.

It's like the one night stand that results in 18 years of child support payments, feels good at the time but has implications...
