Schefter Report: Falcons Plan to Hire Raheem Morris as Head Coach for 2024 season

felger is having a coronary...the Pats are looking at losing season after losing season and irrelevance, no more Brady, Bill might be unemployed next season....say goodbye to your ratings douchebag!!!! hahahahaahah
Felger's nightmare scenario: the Patriots become the franchise he always says they are

One thing that will help Bill is that there is a pretty likely chance a couple of these teams flop next year and the media will rip them for not hiring the GOAT coach. Then teams will be a bit more hesistant for passing up his pedigree.
But Bill will be a year older and out of work. Bill needs to swallow his pride and go in as a DC elsewhere if he wants to be HC next year .

I feel Bill doesn't need to go that low. Call it a day and retire into sunset. He is the GOAT coach .

This is crazy. There were many candidates where I think you could understand but thia one seems odd. My guess is Bill didn't want them even if it means not coaching at all.

I suppose this somewhat increases the possibility that Josh might be back as OC (especially if Bill doesn't get a HC gig with another team, which looks increasingly likely). I personally don't want Josh back, but I'm not the one making those decisions.

So whose left? I think only Washington and Seattle. I said at the beginning I thought Washington was his ideal situation. A fairly good roster and FIVE picks in the first 3 rounds and picks in all the other rounds. AND 73MM in cap space. Close to home an improving roster, with LOTS of money and draft picks. Plus lower expectations next year.

BTW, If Vrabel DOES end up being the odd man out this year, how about a gap year here in NE as DC and mentor to Mayo
Their new owner is adamant that he wants to be part of football decisions. He is going to sit in daily on coaches strategy sessions.

This likely means Belichick and Vrabel do not get a job this cycle and will sit out at least a year.

What a dog sh*t hire, wow. I'd stop being a Falcons fan. Someone compared Rich McKay to Grima Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings. Always talks poor Mr. Blank out of better options so he can continue to rule through him.

This is ridiculous. He does not need to and will never be a DC.

It's better this way. There's little upside for him and his detractors would get louder if he goes to the Falcons and fails which he probably would.

He has nothing to prove anymore. Now he can relax and maybe even get a network gig. Maybe Tom can pull some strings and get him to Fox.

Yes, a very underwhelming choice, but you don't become the lowly Falcons by doing anything else.

If I'm Blank, and 86, I think I'd prefer some immediate gratification.

Their problem was their offense. Yet they went and hired a defensive coach when there were other young coaches on the offensive side of the ball like Ben Johnson and Slowik.

If they didn't want to give Belichick GM control, they should have hired Vrabel who has taken his team and won multiple playoff games in tough environments.

This screams like a Rich McKay hire. He probably didn't want to deal with tough personalities and went with someone he thinks he can get along with, not necessarily someone who was best for the team.

Wow, this definitely makes things even more interesting.

The most interesting thing about his is seeing if Zac Robinson goes with him to Atlanta as OC.
