Who do we draft #3 overall ?

None of these QBs look like All World Joe Cool. Sorry, not worth the risk.
Joe Burrow was a 5th round prospect AT BEST from LSU before his last year, Daniels: LSU, AT BEST 3rd round draft pick before his last year,
Burrow was a product of Justin Jefferson/Jamar Chase (WHAT!) and had a Running back (Edwards-Helaire) drafted in the first round!
Daniels is a product of Nabors and Thomas but has no first round running back, other than himself.
Burrow AND Daniels both listed 6'4" and 210 in college
Burrow turned 24 in December of his first NFL year
Daniels turns 24 in December in his first NFL year
In the final year they both completed over 70% of their passes and had a QB Rating over 200.
They BOTH had exactly a 10 to 1 TD to INT ratio in last year
They both spent 3 years at another school and 2 years at LSU.
The main difference is Daniels had over 1,000 yards rushing to Burrow over 300 and Daniels started as a True Freshman where Burrow sat.

I don't think you could find a comparison any closer than Daniels and Burrow!

Add to that Wiliams and Maye are higher rated prospects than Burrow was at the time so passing on prospects like that when QB is the absolute #1 most important position, and you need to have a top 15 QB or you can't win, seems like a bad decision.

Side Note, that 2019 LSU team and especially the offense was ridiculously stacked! They had 14 players drafted! They had 3 OL drafted along with all the top 4 skill position players going in the first round.

Rodgers 6-2. Mahomes 6-2. Brees 6-0. Other than Brady and Manning these are the top 5 QBs of the last 25 years

Agreed but Williams is closer to 6', not 6'1". Brees is an outlier. We don't want any QB under 6'2", the chances of success are minimal.

There's only a small correlation between where a QB is taken in the first round, and the likelihood of him ending up as a championship caliber guy.

Harrison isn't a guarantee for the draft. 22-25 mill on the table if he stays another year at osu.

I agree to an extent, but if you watch some games from his Arizona state days. He looked pretty good. That being said I am in the camp of not wanting him at 3

I really worry that Daniels wouldn't be utilized to his strengths. I just remember the QB running plays with Cam and it was horrid, I know they are different styles of runners, but I am still worried that his growth will be stunted here. I am not a fan of Maye, but would be content with him, I guess. He has experience behind a **** OL and still being productive, but I am not sure his processing ability is quick enough for the NFL. He seems to make alot of 1st read throws regardless of coverage.

I love the idea of trying to trade back and drafting Fashanu to hopefully shore up LT for 10 years, but I know that this is a good QB driven league. So long story short this is my order of wants at pick 3: Maye, Fashanu, Daniels.
you have to remember, there will be a whole new coaching staff/front office in place going forward. I would like to think a different style and philosophy is coming to NE

Some of you are acting like the below average looking dude who swipes no on Tinder to every girl that’s not a 10.

We need a QB badly, and these top three guys are damn good prospects. Very few QB prospects are without flaws.

Take one.

The two things that need to get looked at is how much he improved when he moved to LSU and got two 1st RD WRs, and how he grew an inch and put on 25lbs moving from Arizona to Louisiana .... I know there is some good food there...but damn!

One thing for sure this is gonna be a fun off season, so much will happen and so many choices to be made.
I like Daniels, but after the '21 QB draft debacle is it better to draft Alt or Olu Fashanu?? The QB position seems like such a crap shoot..if we pick a QB at #3 and he does not pan out it's devastating.
Or do we move down a bit and get another pick in 2nd round..
So many needs, need a great front office to help us move on.

MHJ all day..
if not OT
take another OT top of 2nd round...
then take Roman WIlson R3
Sign Cousins, Flacco or Jimmy G..

We’re not a one year rebuild. That’s why you must go BPA. We’re a 3 year project. Marv Jr.

I’d trade for Fields and sign Barkley. Our offense now has 3 playmakers. Compared to none the last few years.

Not the worst idea

I do agree with you that this team is 2-3 years away from competing

Great post. Slight mod. Trade down enough to get another R2 pick. Sign Cousins and JimmyG (who will be cheap), LT in R1, RT and WR in R2, TE in R3, 3rd down back in R4, RB in R5 and R6. Voila, we have an offense and a defense.

Forget a QB with pick #3. Sign a veteran QB and WR in Free Agency. There are no O lineman worth signing in free Agency. The Patriots need to take Joe Alt and lock down Left Tackle for 10 years. They also don't have a Free Safety and that has come back to burn them on numerous occasions this past season. Draft a QB later and also pick up a WR.

What happens with Pick 3 will depend on what happens when free agency opens. If they don't bring in a vet QB before the draft then they are talking a QB at 3. If they do then they'll likely make a small trade down, take Alt/Fashanu and add a rookie QB on day 2.

One thing to add, some posters are filling their diapers over Penix Jr having an injury history. However, the main "vet" referenced continues to be 35 year old Kirk Cousins who is rehabbing from a busted Achilles. Go figure. Even heard a few shouts for JG, who is the very definition of injury prone.

I think that if Harrison is around at our pick #3,we should convince the Cards we are trading out to offer Harrison to the highest bider.
The Cards have a boat load of picks : They have #21 in the first, #3 in the second and #s 2,7, and 20m in the third. They have #4 just behind us. If we can pull this off we can take the last of the three best QBs in the draft without any real risk. Perhaps we will sign someone like Joe Flacco and trade #4 to the the Giants or another OB hungry team? We may choose to take the QB ourselves particully if we have #21 in the first from the Cards. The Giants may be willing to cough up a one or both second rounders and a first next year for ths last QB. Who knows but we have very real options if Harrison is still on the board.. I can dream i guess!!!!

Harrison was the best player in college football this year. If by some miracle, he falls to #3. It is a no brainer to take him!
Also stay as far away from Daniels as you can!!!!!!!

This offense literally has nobody to game plan against. I like Stevenson and Douglas. But, they don’t keep defensive co-ordinators
awake at night. Barkley and Fields at least make us interesting until we find long-term answers.

Agree . Marv has Gold Jacket potential. Can’t pass that up.
