Faulking faulk, I am unsure I can handle another year of watching Cam play. I'd literally rather watch anyone else.

I hate to say it, but I kind of agree. Cam is awful

Going to be interesting to see what the dollar amount is, has to be very cheap.....I have a feeling this isn't going to please Patriot Fans,
especially if he is the starter on day 1....I'd expect us to bring in another qb, whether it's via the draft or f/a or trade.

I can understand this approach given he "knows" the playbook rather than a newbie , however I also hope that this means the team has either a high pick or trade in the pipeline.

Expected. Have position covered before FA and keep options opened .. still a long way to Sept..

you knew this was coming......it has to be cheap, incentive laden........they'll still sign another FA, they'll still draft a QB somewhere

this is just a security move......a certainty in an uncertain market.......you have a Vet who knows the offense, and I'm sure you just got him cheap

Well trying to look at this through rose-colored glasses......

With a CRAPPY group of skill players, no real off-season, an underachieving defense, a bunch of key players opting out, having gotten Covid, against one of the hardest schedules in the league, Newton managed to win 7 games. Give him a year under his belt, improved skill players, key defensive players returning, and no Covid, against a much easier schedule (on paper), maybe he can get to 10 wins? Possible?

But it may not be the end. Signing Cam removes almost all leverage SF has over them for Jimmy. They'll probably be forced to cut him now. Then Bill can try to get him on a better deal.

Even if that does not happen, though, if Bill surrounds Cam with significantly better players the team will probably be at least decent. Hopefully they will draft a QB to redshirt this year also.
