Many of them are high risk. Does anyone expect any coaches to opt out?

I wish Mickey Lombardi would opt out, so somebody who actually knows the position could replace him...

Don't think any coach will opt out ...

Someone like Andy Reid is at huge risk

I think I could envision some doing more vigilant distancing but I doubt any would opt out.

Coaching practice from a scissor lift like back in the day or from a booth on game day as examples.

Sean Payton got covid before. Can he spread it to others ? Honestly curious

Pretty sure a Japanese (?) study a few months ago proved that while you can get a Covid a second time, you cannot pass it along to others once you’ve recovered once. But, 2020 is such a S-Show, I’d not put money on much atm.

I was thinking a similar thing. Not that the athletes aren't at risk but has any major sports athlete even been forced to go to a hospital yet? I know anyone no matter how in shape can get an unlucky reaction, but I haven't heard of any major sports athlete anywhere in the world getting all that sick.

Not after a few weeks -- his immune system has killed the virus so he is no longer "shedding" (i.e., contagious).

I do have a pretty bad feeling about him. I think the younger Belichicks are doing well enough for themselves to disprove the nepotism talk, but this doesn't help.

Freddie Freeman of the Braves had a pretty rough time of it. He spiked a 104.5 temperature. He almost went to the hospital but didn't. He said it really knocked him on his butt for some time. After talking to him, Nick Markakis immediately opted out of playing ball this year.

Coaches can mask up. A guy like Bill, masking up just means he doesn't have to cover his mouth with the playbook. He'd probably have done it years ago if the league had allowed it, just for the minor tactical advantage.

If I were a coach, I think the risk is worth it. Just wear a mask when on the sidelines....helps with play calling. Then for practices, zoom meetings, walking around the facility....just keep 6 feet away.

I am sure BB is gonna LOVE not having a crowd for his pressers this year...

Doubt it. These guys have stepped on necks, put in 90 hour weeks, ignored their families for years. It's a brutal profession. I suspect only secure, connected coaches would opt out. I'd be surprised to see anyone else, any of the assistants, position coaches.

Masks aren’t guaranteed immunity.

Probably correct but the other side is that to get this far most have far reaching connections so they would have a job elsewhere if they were let go. The problem with that being the guys most likely to want to opt out would be because of families, so they would have to uproot them as well.
